I hope he doesn't quit either, BUT
sometimes when the old methods don't work and the playing field seems uneven, it's easier to pull the plug than to keep plugging and experimenting with new methods no matter what the odds. It's easy to be all smiles when you're winning. It takes a true competitor to smile defiantly when the chips are down. If you never stop fighting, you never stop learning.

He might have changed his mind since, cuz he still has his hockey team despite the fact that we started a new season not that long ago. But at some point he was really upset about the way the game would keep making him lose games that probably had 5% chances of turning that way to begin with. I completely understood his frustrations, too...
I too have had my many frustrations in each of the four sports, but if the game was easy and predictable, it wouldn't be any fun. The best sense of accomplishment is achieved through winning against adversity. It is much more satisfying to win as a long shot than as a favourite. To beat the system, no matter the complications, and in spite of the random factors for me is the ultimate victory. As Winston Churchill said "We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."
However, this being just a game, when the time comes that it is no longer any fun, it's probably time to pack it in.

I enjoy the close battles that Jedi and have for 1st place, National Championships, and i.1 playoffs. Also, get lots of fun out of player development, World Rankings (currently #64), competing in CL or CWC, and our National Teams.
Yes! I was sad to let him go. But I had too many players. Was over 9 mil a day in expenses. And he won't ever be as good as my starting offensive pivot.
I'm closing in on 10M a day. Will slowly sell off all non-Canadian players. Likely drop out of Int'l cup rank as a result.
You just gotta decrease your roster! That's way too many players. Your extra fees per day must be massive!
Don't sell your top foreign players, just trim back on some and your prospects. Not worth dropping competitiveness just to support some young Canadian players.

Closing in on 2.5M a day.
Oh woe is me if I advance to I.I at playoffs end !!
I.I relegation teams...save your energy !!!

I have been contemplating gutting my older guys. I've only carried that size of roster to help our NT. I sell off all my prospects (for jack squat) our NT will hurt.
If Xavies doesn't think any are future NTers I'll axe them on the spot.
I'm paying $3,949,928 in daily player salaries. 10M is way too much of a drain. I'll be working on U19, U21, NT roster suggestions next week and can identify where each of your Cdn players stand regarding competitiveness to earn a roster spot
