The win over the Latvia U17's unexpectedly shot us back up to 40th position, our highest ever from memory! If we could crack the 30's before the qualifiers, that would be a good achievement to hopefully set up the team for the harder matches!

Yes! We are now in our best position ever, #39 in the rankings, finally breaking free of the 40's! This will hopefully be a great boost going back into the World Cup qualifiers, after a reasonable 1-1 draw with Iran U20 (we had the better stats, but oh well)...

Now on the qualifiers. If we could win our first three matches, and then score a couple more points in the other four, then we would be in a prime position to qualify:

Game 1 (#61 Paraguay) - should win
Game 2 (#43 Venezuela) - could win
Game 3 (#38 Macedonia) - could win
Game 4 (#28 Norway) - unlikely win
Game 5 (#23 Germany) - unlikely win
Game 6 (#4 Poland) - basically impossible win
Game 7 (#30 England) - unlikely win

A good 3-0 win over Paraguay, though I won't elaborate because we were clearly dominant and that's exactly the result I was hoping for. Now, considering there is a chance that we could qualify for the World Cup, I was wondering if you guys would like to put together a hosting bid. This is what would be required:

- A website (optional)
- Up to 4 active managers to form an organising committee (from any nation to my best understanding, so you are free to be part Batigoal if you want)
- Exactly 8 stadiums
- A logo
- A mascot
- A presentation (basically a description which I can put together)

This could be a very good opportunity to do something as a group, as these forums have seemed pretty dead recently, and we may also not get a chance like this for a long time. If you would like to contribute, please respond quickly as it needs to be submitted by day 84 of the season, only 18 days away!

But you have to know something: I have never done anything like this.

I'm happy to help. When I was NT manager, we put in a bid to host the Inter Continental Cup which was successful. That was a little easier because there wasn't as much competition for hosting and you only needed four stadia. I'll have a look at our strengths and weaknesses over the next couple of days.

I've put together a draft that I'm not sure you can see. I'll put some links up here in about 10 minutes, but I'd ideally like to replace the logo and mascot.

I could use a new description if you think that this could be better:

For too long has the World Cup been a European and American-dominated competition. Now is the time for Oceania to step up! With eight world-class stadiums decked out with high quality facilities, Australia is the perfect destination for the U20 Football World Cup Season 21! Football is a growing sport and has a large fan-base Down Under, and the sunburnt country is sure to deliver on its promises of a great tournament!


I also need a new mascot and logo, unless you like the ones I have already made (stole the mascot off the internet). I will in no way be disappointed if you reject the following, for I think they are very basic:

What about kangaroo? In my opinion the mascot or the logo should be kangaroo... It would be unique.

Why don't u use the one we had few years back with crico?
Cause we have had Kangaroo as mascot with our jersey and nothing else describe Aussie better in my opinion...batigoal is right

The only thing is that I am still away cause of my job and have my mobile only so do not have the mascot pic with me...but crico might..

For some reason it won't let me change the current mascot that I put up as a draft... I was able to get the image by just copy and pasting by the way. I'll try again tomorrow, and if not then a koala holding an Australian flag isn't too bad! I do really hope that I can replace this logo though, because it looks quite awful in my opinion...
