Just a heads up to all the Canadians, poutine has recently been banned in the Snake Pit. Also USA is winning this here tourny.

First game tomorrow. Anybody have an early favorite to win the tournament?

I'm going to play the odds and say someone south of the border...

I dunno, there are only 9 American teams and 7 Canadian teams... it's almost even. And all of the team strengths are close, except for Steamers with a 138.

I'm going to say either Steamers, or Arlington Drifters. Of course, a lot of this depends on the amount of energy each team is willing to waste, too.

I need energy for the league, so probably not me since every game will be on VL.

...You will easily hold second place for the rest of the season in our league. Your teams D is tough to get by and score on. Believe me I've tried and failed, and you just shutout Smuggling. I would place you at a top 5 finish in this tourney, as long as no one tries to one up you on very high.

But I'm in agreement, energy consumption is going to play a major factor in teams placements in our league this season.

You know, I'm so used to my hockey team struggling to make the league playoffs and not being anything special that I've mostly been paying attention to my soccer team, and I didn't realize what a good shape I'm in at this point in the season. I still want to finish as high as possible though for the best chance at favorable matchups in the playoffs (even though I fully expect to tank like the last couple of seasons ).

Those 2 free agent defensemen I picked up halfway through the season gave me a much bigger boost than I expected to get from only spending 31 million. So glad I decided to go that route rather than spending it on prospects who maybe would be good in 2014(!) if their CL held up.

I'm very happy with to have started with a 6-0 win. I think I caught my opponent by surprise on tactics though.

I probably won't win the tournament, but my team has been performing like a team with 10 higher overall strength. Hopefully I won't have any more injuries after I get back my top line LD next Saturday.

I should easily make the playoffs in my league (though I would prefer to hold fourth or fifth place). Even so, I'm tempted to spend the energy where free credits are involved.

Tomorrow's game against Momentum's league rival should be fun.

Yeah those two defensemen you bought definitely helped your lineup. I beat you earlier on in the season 3-2, but you shut me out this past Friday 4-0. In other words, your new defense is dope. You might even take the number one spot, the Stars have been losing games lately.

I was surprised that I won 6-0... Maybe my teams going to do better in this tourney than I had first assumed. I want to get further in the tournament because I want to stack up against teams from the other divisions in our league. Would be a great way to learn how well I would fare in the other divisions. The credits don't matter that much to me, I really only did this to get a first hand look at how the tournaments work.

I know the manager of the Unicorns personally, and I suspect he will be aiming for a win tomorrow. He'll want to even out his record, like the others will. Good luck.

For some reason, my second line is scoring all of my goals in this tournament. In my league, my first line scores all of my goals. They play the same amount of time.

At the halfway point, I'm very happy with my team's undefeated performance and especially its goal differential. I can clinch the playoffs if I can win my next game; any win out of the next three would likely be enough.

By the way, which statistics are the other credit prizes given for?

Meh, I'm debating on putting a little bit of effort into these last two games. I'd have to rely on Thunder to beat one of you guys, and he's also playing on very low. Other than that, I don't have a chance...

This was a fun tournament, though. It was kind of cool to play against Canadian teams that are around my team strength.

Oh wait, scratch that. I just looked at my goal differential. There's no way I'm coming back from that!
