By your way of thinking this would be a useless game to play. If it does not resemble anything like real life if you just put 3 left back players and you win the game, then this game is very poor.

In my oppinion this game should resemble real football tactics, and not play with 5-5-0 and win, or play with 4 left back and one center defence and win... Football is much more than win possesion, football has space, the ball is faster than the player and too many players doing the same role it's a mess in any football field in any part of the world... If this is not meant to be a management football simulation what is it suppose to be?

I still think this is going to be tunned up, or at least I hope.

still, he has 4 defenders and the opposing player- 2 attackers. the fact that 2 CFs are faced with 1 CD doesn't change much, because the 1 CD gains some contribution from those 3 LDs. I would only agree about the mess with 3 defenders in one position, and that should be changed

All this simulations games are based on possesion ! Imagine that you have 3 LEFT back and I have just one (but very good) right midfielder ! Possesion in that zone would be almost equal, or maybe you'll have a plus there... but, I'll have 2 extra players which I can arrange them in other zones (your weakest) to win possesion and grant victory !

5-5-0 can be easily defeated with a 3-4-3 (with one offensive midfielder).

I have an issue. In match report, every single player has a rating (from 1 to 10). Is this rating influenced by the opponent team ? I mean, if one player plays 2 consecutive games in same position, but with 2 different opponents, he will have same rating ?

I think the question here is.. is it suppose the PPM become a simulator of what happens in the real world?

If yes, well, to play with 3 LEFT defenders and 0 in the RIGHT would make your right side a highway to opponents attackers..
Of course your left side would steel all the balls when your opponent attacks for that side

Now another question: would u risk to play with 3 left back when u know that ur right side would be a highway ? Don't think so !!! All managers will try to have equilibrated teams playing adequate tactics.

So why such crazy tactics like the one that there's a highway on the right wins matches?

What is the point of creating and having different formations if it doesn't have any other positive or negative effect for the result than how many players are defenders, middlefielders or forwards?

I think the tactics should be deeper than that and recognize the positions of players better in calculations.

I am afraid that at the moment the calculations are more of the first and lesser the last... I hope i am wrong.

It's for this reason (partly) that i don't really put much effort into my soccer team.

1. He created more shooting chances because he won the midfield zone (central + his right side) while u won possesion only on ur left side. Shots: 13-5 for him. (if all his attacks were on left side he would had a lot more shots)

2. He attacked on both sides but won possesion just on your right side. U attacked only on ur left side but won possesion on central. (I reffer here only on attack vs defense)

I don't agree with you, if your team sucks and if there's many offensive players against your unbalanced defense what's the use of having the world greatest goalkepper?

Man, look at possesion in your defending zones ! Are they so unbalanced comparing to his offence ?

Man, it's not a question of unbalanced possession, is a mather of how many attacks he would get from his left attack it's the times that he would create super danger in the defense and for sure at times score.

If you think this is a nice tactic and that it's perfectly normal to play without ANYONE on the right side and still win, then i'm not going to discuss with you more this issue

I would love to see an International football game between i dunno, say Argentina and Brazil.. and have one play with this screwed up formation and the other play regular formations... this screwy one would get DESTROYED!

You can argue it all you like, but to win a game with that formation is simply unrealistic.

But don't forget that this is only a simulation and it is based on calculations and that's it ! As I've said to Nascimento too, it's really hard to simulate some human factors that in real life football (soccer) can make difference between two teams !
This is just a computer game and we should treat him as it is !
