i don't like this.. do we not have a pride?
i'm for playing to win, not playing to prepare. not to mention, most of the players meant to be the future of the canadian national senior team won't ever make the senior team anyways. the training bonus that these players will get won't be much to make a difference whether they'll make the senior team, and if that is the difference maker, then that should raise a question whether if he should've made the u20 team in the first place
my suggestion is to reserve a very few spots for the players who're slam dunk to make the senior team, and the rest of the spots should go to the best players available

Agreed.. play to win. I'm not sure how the training bonuses work on the international stage, being a newb, but the idea is to win, is it not? It's oall of us to develop top talent and compete to have them make these teams. The players that are developed properly and talented enough will make the senior team anyways.

A more productive idea would be to train managers on how to develop talent so that we have more to choose from and be more competitive at all international stages. As far as I can see, many teams are full of international players and sell their top young Canadian talent to get cash to buy players to win their league.
