II.4 used be the strongest league of the second tier, but at this point, with the promotion of Sangsues and death of Falcons, we are starting to look like a weak league. Of course who we get in promotions and demotion could change that.

Congratulations to Sangsues. I.1 will be interesting to follow next year with a strong crop of new teams.

As good as the previous draft was, this one is terrible. At least for the players I was able to scout. Not a single A or A+...

It's a shame. This draft is more important as the players drafted here arrive on first day the following season and have the best development time possible.

Well he didnt fetch a lot, but at leaast he went to a good team. I wish I had been around. That player will be worth much more soon.

Oof... prices really get wild when those best players hit the market.. it serves as a reminder that, even though most of my facilities and arena are done, I'm a long ways away from competing with the best teams.

Darnit! I forgot about Longstaff! I wanted to nab him

Yeah me too. Didn't forget, but there were a lot of guys available at the same time. I think the best deals ended up being Zach LeBrun (missed by a few seconds my bid...) And Lizotte who went for a reasonable price.

Too many of my own recent FA's left me with NSF to stay in the running very long. Will likely be dumping a few 0/6ers to stay out of I.I next season. Not nearly ready for that jungle just yet!

The re-tooling is underway. Most of my older players are gone. The leadership core has changed and we make way for the future in Microbrasseurs land.

Gone are our aging #1 goalie, #1 center, #1 defenseman and #2 RWer. #1 RWer will also be playing elsewhere starting on Wednesday. In their place, we brought in a promising 21 years old goalie and gave room to our young players to grow on the lower lines. This core that we now have is the team of the future for us. Most players will be there for years to come and will eventually lead us to glory. It is most likely the players who will eventually bring us to the first league and keep us there.

In the meantime, we expect a bit of a drop-off from the strong start of the season we had enjoyed, but think our young leaders Aidan Guay, Kaleb Sutton and Timothy Howkins will keep us in respectability during the "transition season's" ahead.

I just noticed at the draft that Georgian Bay Giants is dead. A damn shame. Another good team going out the door.

Oof! This might be the best back-to-back performances by goalies I have seen. Last Friday, Esposito was in net for Microbrasseurs and did not give up any goal against a strong Sharkbait team. He finally flinched in shootout when his team was still unable to get him a goal. 0-1 SO loss.

Today is maybe more crazy: Losing the tactics matchup and playing against a strong team (being at home was my only notable advantage), Sabertooth Tigers held puck possession 70% of the time and shot 44 times. Meanwhile, my team shot 14 times only. Somehow, after finally giving one up in the 2nd, my team tied before the end of the period. In the third, another lucky goal by my team coupled with an incredible performance by Kozlik, my other goalie, turned a sure-loss into a 2-1 win.

Great game. With Sharkbait's loss today, I feel comfortable in my odds of finishing the season at the top of the standings.

there's this weird thing I've noticed when strengths are a bit skewed and shots are way higher on the stronger side: the weaker side seems to magically get crazy luck in scoring, and will often get 3+ goals in like, 12 shots. It's happened too many times (usually me on the higher shot side and almost/occasionally losing said game over this weird phenomenon, to soemtimes a much weaker team) to not be a pattern.

Maybe it's like a "cold goalie" feature, where the goaltender hasn't been working much, so when he is, he's a bit off-guard?
