I agree, but your strikers and midfielders are more likely to have higher shooting than your defenders, no?
If shooting is the value to use, then its very likely in about 99% of teams the players will be ordered as:
Strikers Shooting > Midfielders Shooting > Defenders Shooting.

WHy make an easy function automated? You did a mistake as a manager and therfor lost the game, as it should be.
Yes indeed and I was kind of agreeing with you in the sense that a shooting-based auto is not the same thing as a selected list.
Just to add something to the discussion:
The problem arrises not only if a manager makes a mistake by forgetting to set up penalty shooters but also if one substitutes one of these. Then the possibly important last penalty (or penalties) will be taken by some arbitrary player. (Like in my game today, where it was a defender who missed.)

Yes, there should by possibility to set up penalty shooters (and other kicks) not only for lineup, but also for players on the bench. It annoys me too...
Ok guys, you were begging for it, so it's here..I have added suspension of players also to PPM cup 
you should see the suspensions also on lines page...suspensions with 0 matches to go were deleted and problem which causes this was fixed..hope everything will be ok now and sorry for incovenience

There is already an auto order set to choose defenders to take pens first.
All I'm asking is that this order be changed.
There are other reasons to ordering players for pens other than "I forgot".
Such as one mentioned above, a substitution can mess up the order.

Yeap, and its not like in reallife where you can change penalty shooters before they actually gonna do it and you can take Rooney out of the list if he got subbed or card or w/e. But in this game if Rooney should get red card during the game and the game goes to penalties then some def gonna replace him, thats kinda silly.
In hockey turney, they play for third place, so its reasonable to believe its same here. Atleast I hope so :p
