I've been following the story quite closely, as I have a strange connection to it. It all started on twitter when I sent a link to the Libyan Youth Movement containing a contact form for UN Peacekeeping (because they had been directing people to the wrong website, so I thought I'd point them in the right direction) right when the uprising started. They retweeted it out, and then it got retweeted by one of the twitter accounts from that hacker group Anonymous. Well apparently thousands of people contacted the UN through this link. Then I got an email from the UN saying they'd been contacted thousands of times, and how their hands were tied and all this stuff, as if they thought I was part of the youth movement. But it was really weird, because I have no idea how UN Peacekeeping got my email address, as I never directly contacted them. Next thing I know, my twitter account is hacked (which is quite amusing, as I only have 20 followers, and rarely ever tweet). But yah, I couldnt get on my twitter account after that, everytime I tried logging in, I would end up on a blank page. I had to log in using a secure server and change my passwords. Not something you're expecting as a basic nobody.
Perhaps the account hack and the tweet were completely unrelated, it was just really weird that it happened within a few hours of me sending out that link. It creeped me right out, gave me that odd feeling of being watched by big brother. I printed out the email the UN sent me and plan on keeping it as a sort of souvenir.

Conspiracy! I bet he's not actually dead... he's on his way to BC to take you down himself.
I wasn't trying to make a political statement of any kind either, I just noticed that the youth movement had sent out a "contact the UN" link that actually only directed people to a form to give feedback about the UN's website, so I thought I'd just help them out, and correct it. Then all the weird crap happened.
They likely hacked your facebook account too. Wait, you don't have one. Whew. Close call...
and thats not even the worst thing that happened to me on twitter! during the last canadian election, I sent a tweet to Harper, and he actually responded (or at least his publicist), and he posted my twitter handle (I was the first person he had directly contacted on twitter, all previous messages from his account were just generalized political garbage) well boy did that piss people off. I got all these hate messages because people thought Harper shouldn't be directly engaging people on twitter, as if it was my fault that he responded to me. There was so much hate, it was unreal, I spent like 3 days responding to people. Was contacted by a reporter from back east and a radio DJ from Calgary.
yah, my original thought was that they got my email address from my twitter account, but I honestly don't know
ahahaha, an anonymous celebrity..... is that possible? Infamous, not famous.
I've tried talking to all the Canucks, and I get no response. Who responds? Steven effing Harper, booooooo
geez Scott you're more famous than me, at least you had fans as a goalie. I got nothing but hate. I don't mind though, hahahaha
Haha "fans" ya sure haha. I'm sure they'll be chanting some shit in Cornell. The usual stuff "It's all your fault!" or "UG-LEE GOAL-LEE" stuff like that.
Ya you get used to it. If anything it makes the game more fun and gets you into it more. I'm not one to get flustered by anything someone says or does. But I'm off to catch the bus. 20h on the road this weekend ahead of me. Later amigo(s).
