I'd be willing to help out but I haven't had to much success in soccer so I'm not going to run for manager.

I'd personally be willing to try a few different atty ratio. I've tried building ratios around the qualities of my players and to different position roles: (like attacking mid, middle leaning defenders)

I mean I haven't found out a perfect ratio for anyone yet, so I usually train a 2 main attr to 1 everything else

what ratios do you like?
I use 100/70/70

I go with 4-3-2-1 like a few others have stated before. Meaning: Position - 100, Major Influence - 75, Medium Influence - 50, Small Influence - 25. I'm not saying this is the best and only ratio you should use but since I have switched to it, my player ratings have improved greatly. Still haven't gotten all my players there yet but they have definitely improved with this ratio.

The ratio business could definitely be a mess for whoever becomes the NT Coach. The candidates may want to post what criteria they would use to select NT players. This could include a ratio or ratio range (ex: 100 / (70:80) / (40:60) / (25:40)).

I have been scouting a lot of US players that have high in game ratings, rather than just high OR players. I think I got the idea from you a few months ago. I know of at least 50 US-born players that get at least a 9 rating. By the time the international competitions start, that number should definitely grow. Perhaps the NT Coach could use in-game ratings to narrow down the selection pool. The High Headerz are probably the best in the country at maxing out the in-game rating.

Also, I started playing the hockey game just after the start of season 3 (the start of international play) and I think I remember some concerns about not having enough young players on the team (for future chem gains). Perhaps someone who knows more about that situation could help us avoid a problem in soccer.

Yeah it is not going to be a fun job. At least for the first season or two but I think all countries are going to be like that as well.

I think that would probably be best if any candiates running post what ratio ranges they want to go with. I think you and flyersjunky are prenty much on par with what most of the top team do for there current players.

I've noticed I don't have any top tier OTR players, but I think I have a couple 9's...no, just one, and he has 365 OTR, and I use a 100-85-48-36... as you can tell, its not a very Orthodox formula.

MOST of my players are between a 4-3-2-1 and a 6-4-3-2. I base most of it on qualities and a little on position (in this guy's case, ALOT.) I emphasize speed much more for wide players and offensive players. I still don't have a clear idea of what is ideal and I don't fully trust the rating because I'm not to sure if it takes into account scoring and set piece ability.

I don't really care what ratio I use, a little difficult to control. As long as the ball goes down into the enemy's gate. I'm more than willing to be the first to try a national team building policy.

I do 100-75-55-40, but with more speed for the central midfielders than the guide calls for.

I would stick to the guide info, because it is accurate...
Also Pro-Pack owners get directions for auto training and it is the same as the Guide suggests...

The guide categorizes secondary attributes as major, medium, and small influences and states that attributes classified to the same importance are not necessarily of the same influence. It does not give any information on how high each attribute should be trained in relationship to each other, thats what the ratio discussion is about. As for Pro-Pack owners, it only shows you different colors for the attributes based on primary, major, medium and small influence for the position the player is set at. Again, no numerical data is given.

His OTR is very good, but his in game rating is mediocre. He should be an 8 or 9 at least as a Center mid. Have you trained more than midfield?

On top of that, the description of the attributes suggest a different amount of importance for players within the same position:

for example, Speed "can be said that the players positioned on the sides of the playing field use speed more than players in center positions"

just from that, you can infer that a player on the extreme edge of the field needs speed more than a side player closer to the middle.

On top of that, there are special values for shooting,crossing, and heading that one needs to take in account.
