Knuckle's guide to success for PPM newbies

If you play division 1 the only goal is to win cups while keeping the income vs costs balanced. If you play in lower leagues (as a rookie you always start in the lower divisions), the goal is to maximise profit.


Step1:

For a rookie the only way to be successfull is to buy old well trained players (cheap guys around 10-50k $) on the market to make your team competive enough for the lowest leage level.



Step 2: Arena

Build it to medium/large stands. Keep it there. Once you get 100 Mil plus from sponsors, start upgrading to tripple multi.



Step 3: Facilities

Training/ Regeneration Facility: You don't need it because you don't have good young players to train anyway.

Sports Academy: The further the game proceeds the higher the number of players pulled into the system every week, meaning it becomes more and more difficult to pull decent prospects on lower levels (1-10). In season 2 and 3 you could pull superstars with level 5/6. It's almost impossible now, as the chance to pull talented prospects (not the quality just the chance) depends on the level of the academy. The system will even out a bit, when more teams have their academy built to level 15. Don't build it!

Education Center: You don't even need to know what staff is until your facilities reach level 10/11.

Medical Center: You wou won't have good players in foreseeable future. It doesn't matter if your players get hurt. Keep it at level 1.

Maintanance Center: Depends on arena and HR Department.

HR Department. Prime facility to build. The extra income in sponsor money will put you into position to build the other facilities.



Summary

Buy veteran players, build HR department and arena first. As the maintainance costs go up, build maintenance center. Each level of maintainance center saves 2% facility and arena costs.
Result: high income and very low costs as you don't have to maintain the other facilites and pay for staff.
Upgrade your team with veterans every now and then to keep your team competitive enough. Players that cost 100k today will cost 10k tommorrow. But keep an eye on their wages. Once you have a full arena and HR at level 12/13 only then start building the other facilities. Hire staff when your facilities reach level 10/11.

Holy crap...that makes sense lol

I wish I had done something similar when I started hockey at the end of Season 3. Instead I built "normally" and ran into a wall after a couple seasons where income and expenses get so close that it takes forever to afford an upgrade. I've had to put a halt to all facility building for 2 seasons now (which will continue for several more) to jump-start the cash flow with stand upgrades.

I know, right? At first glance, it seems like a foolish thing to do. But when you really look at it, it starts to make a lot of sense. It's an extreme way of doing things, but that's almost necessary to make up any ground on the established teams.

I only started at the end of season 2, but like zomg, I wish I could re-do that with this plan in mind.

I want to buy advertisement for player but im a little confused.

For example it says Advertisement package Today 16:00. Than when i press to send bid, it says Time 22:00. So when will the ad work?

No idea- I think the advertisement is a joke. Good for them to make extra money.

It seems like the first time is your local time, while the second time CET is. I have no clue if it's supposed to be like that though.

I was actually thinking on that line when I first started(having read the guide like I was supposed to)but the market was(and is even more so) so inflated that I couldn't do it. I'm 35-0-0 in III.3 and am looking forward to II.1 where next season my whole focus will be to just avoid relegation by winning at any expense(well obviously not my players energy of course). I'll do it by blowing off the games against the opponents I know would take a lot out to just compete, blow off the national cup(for the sake of energy), and literally study my opponent for the best tactics so I won't have to set my energy so high. The thought here is that league standing is everything and that league and national cup is not important, also my players will perform much better than others in the league. I have lvl 8 training facility working on 9 and I have lvl 6 SA and MC with staff specifically for youth training and prevention. I started about 200 days ago and plan on at least competing for a spot in I.1 by the end of season 9. I just pray it works, as my financial side could use a boost since I'm paying about 250k a day for staff, which is quite better considering I almost went bankrupt with about 500k a day about a month ago because I had never worried about the salaries beforehand.

Does the match importance you play with have any effect on the chemistry or experience gained for that match?

I don't think so, at least I've never noticed a difference.

I have a question...what the heck is the League Cup, and do I want to be in it?? lol

It's just something to play for in the last two weeks of the season. We used to have two weeks of friendlies because there's no playoffs like we have in hockey. This is when the World Cup is supposed to be played. Tt was pretty damn boring. So they added the League Cup to give us something to do. You can gain decent OTR through the four games. And if you win, you go into the Super League Cup next season.

Apparently, these games also count as key games. So you need to use a decent lineup. Something close to what you used during the season. Otherwise your sponsors will be upset and offer you less money.

I really wish I had known that prior to organizing the training camp lol. Fortunately, only one regular starter was used, and it wasn't my keeper or anything. Thanks for the answer!

According to the news, the league cup matches are not key games.

From 6/15 News:
"These key games are identified as promotion and relegation playoffs in both sports as well as quartefinals, semifinals, finals and the first round of 9-16 placement playoffs in hockey."

From 7/16 News:
"Finally, I would just like to remind everyone who is playing in promotion/relegation matches that your negotiations with sponsors at the end of the season may be negatively influenced if you decide to field a significantly weaker team for these matches than your starting eleven. The best thing to do is to go all out and attempt to win these matches."

League Cup games are not promotion/relegation matches.

That's excellent news. I never put any effort into the LC anyway
