I know it starts on Sunday in every calendar. But, using your point against you, why does it matter if it starts on a Sunday?

um... because when I'm looking at it (spatially), i get messed up. When you look at a calendar, when do you really look at the labels at the top? Seriously.

Looking at a calendar becomes second nature when you always see them with the same format (starting with sunday). So when you look at one that starts on some other day, you can easily "lose your place."

So when I glance at this calendar, I think to myself, "ok... handball league games are monday, tuesday, thursday, and saturday." And then I'm like, "wait a second..." and then I have to scroll up and look at the labels in the calendar, and be like "oh, right. games aren't on those days at all."

When planning friendlies for during the playoffs or national cup time, I constantly end up with them on the wrong days of the week, because the calandar starts on a day different from everything I'm used to.

This isn't like cm for height in basketball, where everyone in the world except America uses metric. Calendars beginning sunday is a pretty standard thing I feel.

Hell... just thinking for a moment, there might even be people who want the start of their PPM week to be wednesday (since that's when the sponsorships come in). I could see that as being a point of preference for some people.

It would just be nice to have it as an option in your profile (like setting the time zone) since it's purely a display thing. "Calendar starts on "Sunday." They could leave monday as the default if they really wanted to... but I just don't understand why there isn't at least an option to change it.

The international ISO 8601 standard places Monday as the first day of the week, and this is widely used on calendars in Europe and in international business.

Well the calendar week has ended with Saturday since biblical times. You know the whole, "god created the world in 6 days and rested on the seventh?" The Sabbath, the Jewish day of rest, is on Saturday for this reason.

Look at the history of the names of the week dating back in the 1st century AD when the Romans switched to a 7 day calendar week (from an 8 day week), and you'll see the same thing.

Why is Sunday called sunday? It comes from latin, "dies solis." Day of the sun. "On the first day, God created light."

Where do the names of the weekdays come from? Solar bodies. Each day/time corresponded with a particular solar body, and was therefore named for it.

You see evidence of this is the Spanish language (and most likely all the other Latin languages as well). Monday through Friday are named after the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter (respectively). You'll noticed that Saturn is left out. Saturn always corresponded with Saturday (notice the similarity in the words?), but the Spanish calendar used a different naming convention for weekends. They called Saturday "Sabado" which stems directly from hebrew, meaning "sabbath" and Sunday "Domingo" which means "the Lord's Day."

I'm not sure why it's so unreasonable for me to ask for an option to change the calendar? It's not my fault that some cooks decided to arbitrarily change the calendar that's been used for thousands of years.

I mean for f*cks sake. I'm asking for the OPTION to change it. I'm not saying that you have to set it like that for everyone.

I'm assuming this is hockey? Where you have an HR facility at lvl 9?

The star rating (like unscouted AQ) is variable depending on the quality of your HR department and scouts.

Sooo, some of the 2s and 3s I've turned away could have. Been stars.

Theoretically, yes.

I make it a habit to always pull everything that is 3 stars and above.

I think you're fairly safe that the 2 star players weren't superstars, but theoretically, they could have been functional players.

But yes. To give you an idea, in handball I recently pulled a 3 star player that was 62 AQ. I've also pulled a 3 star player that was 71 AQ.

Even with my HR at level 10 (working on level 11), my unscouted AQ can be anywhere as much as +/- 10 points different from scouted AQ.

So there's a lot of variation until you get to pretty high HR lvls and scouting proficiency.

With that in mind, in basketball, it probably makes sense to pull players based on what their OR is (rather than what their AQ is). Until season 5-6, that star rating won't mean much of anything.

HR is one of those "sneaky facilities" where you don't actually see much of the benefit of upgrading it.

It's hard to quantify how much better sponsorship offers are in the off-season due to having higher HR facilities and marketing directors.

It's also hard to quantify how many good SA players you might have passed on due to having lower levels of scouting and HR facility.

But it is absolutely one of the most important facilities in my opinion. In my personal opinion, it is the THE most important, because it's the life-blood of your team.

Your money (sponsorship deals), and your unscouted view of SA players and staff pulls, and even market players/staff are all affected by it. There's a reason why in handball and basketball, it is a "tier 1" cost facility.

Ok. Now I have a super dumb question. Are the A+, A, B, C, and D ratings I get after scouting for the draft accurate? Then of course when they get to the SA and are given Stars they aren't accurate then?
