I was just reading up on the jersey thread for the National teams when I realised that a country needs at least 50 teams to have its own league & NT.

So... Ive checked the hockey teams in my country and seen we have 51!!

Are Ireland going to get their own leagues and National team?

If so, I'd very much like it if we can have our national team created now, as we've already lost ground on all of the rest.

Can someone in the know please let us Irish Ice-Hockey Managers what is going to happen next?

I agree! I am going to send tuttle a message. For various reasons, I've always had Ireland close to my heart. So you guys deserve a national team! BTW, in real life I see you guys are going to be in Division III in the IIHF this April. Here's hoping you win!

Tuttle said though nothing is guaranteed, Ireland must have a support captain. If either one of you are interested, or you know someone who is, send him a message, or let me know. This way we can get on the road to a PPM national team for Ireland!

Hopefully none of the 51 managers are only logging in once and are due to be nonames. It would be cool if Ireland could sustain a national team and give us British a rival to play against.

@Emerald - I think you would be most suited to take the role of support captain for Ireland as you seem to be the most interested and eager. I suggest you email and I can help you as needed.

@Reverist - Thanks for looking into this for us. Hopefully we can move things on. As for support captain I think Emerald is more suited to the job than myself as he/she is more knowledgeable and active and longer in the game than I.

@Kingfubar - A good irish/british rivally in any sport is healthy so hopefully we can challenge you before to long!!!

i'm excited with the fact that ireland could have it's own league, and surely they would as all of us Other World clubs have been pushing for a national team and we were told that 50+ nations would guarantee us our own league and national team.

I have been in the same league as Emerald for a couple of seasons now, in fact I am playing him in a playoff game tonight! But he would definately be a good choice for support person. he is always good to deal with and willling to help out.

With the number of teams in Ireland now, their league would have just two divisions. But that's still much better than none!

Chile meets the 50+ managers requirement at the moment as well. I wonder if that'll hold for the end of season.

I also wonder what will happen to the Other World leagues with those teams being potentially ripped out of the system? Super-promotions everywhere!

Thanks for the support from you both about the support captaincy but I dont think I would be able to effectively contribute in this way due to time constraints unfortunately. I would have to review what is required for this role before commiting myself... Ill delve into this a little more and see if its viable!!

Hopefully this comes to fruition, rivalry is indeed healthy, but lets hope you lot can give us a better game than your rugby team!!

All joking aside, if we can manage to get the support captain I dont see any further obstacles in getting our own leagues and NT.

Emerald, I thought you were looking into doing the support team? If you want to at least see what is required, I would contact vlady. It can't hurt, plus then we could all see what's up with it. At that point, if we know that you are unable to do it, maybe Borderfox may step up. It is helpful to note that a support captain is not the same thing as the national team manager, so if that is holding back any of my Irish friends--don't let it!

I haven't done anything towards this as I don't wish to be the point of contact for it. I can't commit as much time to it as I think it will need to do the job right. I am however willing to help anyone who does wish to follow up on it.

Ok, Ill take on the responsibility of National Captain, but only if it means we get our own National leagues, and in time, National team.

For my input where we stand now is nowhere. I have no real idea about who should be contacted to pursue this. Reverist suggested contacting vlady who is head translator. However, I think it should go to the top with Gioel , tuttle or maxo and let them say where to go next.

Also I think it would look better if you contact them directly yourself if your gonna take on the role of National Captain rather than have someone else contact them and point at you as a candidate.
