Is there some reason why some of my hockey screens have huge text? The football seems fine but for some reason the hockey is hyper-big. Is this a bug in the game or am I just tech-deficient?
we didn't change anything. can you make a screenshot? maybe I can help you if I see it
Aha! I found some kind of zoom function on the top of my screen which had been set to 175% and I put it back to 100% and now everything is fine, so thanks! But I am concerned, because I think that this might be some sort of "foreign sabotage", designed to frustrate a non-tech guy like myself so that I make mistakes. I will be extra vigilant and make sure that my virus protection is updated regularly so that this form of subversive action doesn't happen again!
Zoom can be triggered by holding down control and the + or - keys, the scroll wheel on the mouse, OR a laptop touchpad sliding motion. It's surprisingly easy to trigger on a laptop.
ctrl + 0 (zero) should typically put everything back to 100%
(With a Mac, just replace Ctrl with Cmd)

Hey all - I've come across a few posts saying that staff members aren't worth having on the payroll until I have better facilities. I couldn't find anything in the guide about this so does anyone have any insight? Should I fire all my staff? If so, at what level should my facilities be before I get myself some better staff? Thanks in advance.
Captain Canuck put up a really good yet complicated article about that if you want. He manages the Royal City Redshift if you want to message him. In short, I would keep their training numbers in a gradient relative to the stage of development in your facilities. Thus, if your Training is middling at around 8 then I would keep my head manager's numbers at around 50-50 and the assistant at maybe half of his. Gradually build this up as you upgrade your facilities. Also, don't keep around extra guys who aren't in the top two. That was the basic message of his posting.
By the way, this game is a cult and Captain Canuck there is our Messiah. We all follow the things that he says.
Something you should do ASAP is upgrade your small stand-ups to max capacity (100). It's only 1 day of downtime and they pay for themselves within a couple of days, as I recall.
After that, the typical upgrade pattern is to go for max capacity large stand-ups, and then save money to build the largest capacity triple-floor multi-purpose (TFM) that will still be finished before you sign a new media deal.
That last point is really important - you never want an arena stand under construction at the end of the season when it's time to sign a new media deal, since stands under construction are ignored, no matter what size they will be when finished. Since TFMs take 100 days to construct, you have about a 10 day window to get those started on construction so that they will be done in time for the next media deal signing.
