Believe me, there will always be enough people which buy games to keep their motor running normaly.
Guys who work on games could also make them more ethical and less violent.
As for Sega, I would believe in that story if they had to cut budget off (which is not very drastic measure), or even to shut down company. I think that they switched to more profitable genre from hockey manager.

I'm backing all except second 'bout more ethical and less violent.. - hell no, the more close to reality, the better. Player must have a choise how to be if you get what I mean.. There was couple of game situations when after forcing myself to be evil I felt myself quite unease..
But if try to imagine "moral and ethic" GTA for example..

I don't want to argue, just told U my point of view. Not being a big fan of all games, I can afford to buy the "original" version when I like one (maybe I buy 1-2 games every year... maybe). I just hate it when my Madden career got blown to pieces by an error like usually happens with a cracked game.

I think we need simulations of driving, not trouble simulations. You don't need to add stress to yourself, you have it all around you. If you think though that stress through games would make you tougher....you're wrong On the other hand- if you constantly enjoy dicing your enemies, if you need the dose, you should see therapist.
And who will decide what is right thing to do in certain situation ? Game developer of course.
If we continue in this way, guess we'll need one huge Matrix to dwell in.

@Leonidas2 I'm not arguing also, just throwing yes for software piracy. Also don't like when something doesn't work nicely, but I had those situations with originals also. Maybe Windows is best example
So, there is a bottom line - when you get tired of crashes with your free downloaded game (and that patience is influenced by your wallet), you can go to store and buy it. And also you can be certain if there is no software piracy, there would be more viruses and trojans, credit card attacks, etc.

Actually I prefer simulators too.. well as far there will be demand for violence and non-ethical behaviour - it will be offered. It's just good to have a choise..

Well we know that people are very attracted to violence, and they like more to watch it then to participate in it. It sucks knowing you should yell FIRE ! when you are attacked, and not HELP !
I think that human behavior could be changed. I think that games (violent ones) are not giving us on a subconscious level, or in any other way, nothing good and productive. There should be games like those, but currently market is overwhelmed with 'em, and you are more-less in a spot to play them whether you like it or not.

I agree. That´s path-dependence from humanity´s beligerant past (past?). Improving this behaviour requires institucional strength (I mean, reading, writing, learning, free debating) and cost of changing habits.

Something like - hey! you do not need to win win win to have fun at PPM. After all, if you see things that way, every league has 1 winner and 21 losers. Learning is the best part of the game. Sorry, second best. Friendships we gain here is top 1.

Yep, and everything goes in opposite direction, "path with least resistance" or - give people bread and games, and everything will be ok. World is now more naughty place because selfishness has became something normal. Not to mention other non-virtues that became so ordinary.
GAining friends here, getting to know each other better and share some of this virtual success or calamities, is really top of PPM's qualities.
