Lets see some chat from the candidates. I'm leaning towards a vote for saltyanchovy , but I also like [manager=3 69224] and charredmonkey . The race is wide open right now.
I'll structure the National Team like I would my own team.
Like with my own team, I will build around special teams.
I will look for the best 10 scorers for the PP. I'm looking for high balanced primaries, Pas, Sho, and Off for dmen.
I will look for the best 8 defensive players for the PK. I'm looking for high balanced primaries, Tec, Agr, and Def for forwards.
I'll look to get these players into the lineup and surround them with complimentary players. Good shooters with good passers. Low Agr with high Agr. Low Tec with high Tec. Low Def with high Def.
The aim will be to balance the lines and to stack the special teams.
I intend to have enough top level talent to round out 6 lines - 4 to start and 2 backups at each position in case of injuries. I will be looking for PP back-ups, PK back-ups, and the next best all-around talents.
The remaining roster spots will be filled by upside players (determined by quality and owner's facilities) who are likely to make the team in the coming seasons. The goal will be to get them some chemistry and experience in friendly games where the starters and their backups are nearing 100%.
If elected, I will form a player selection committee composed of managers who have shown a commitment to PPM and who have expressed an interest in participating in the management of the National Team. I will ultimately be the decider (George Bush stylez, yo), but I will consider and value the input of others and I welcome healthy debate.
I will rotate the Assistant GM position among the GMs who form the selection committee and those who express an interest to get involved throughout the season.
I will be vocal in the message boards, keeping Canadian managers abreast of what is happening to the team (to the extent possible without tipping our hand to our opponents).
And I will lean heavily upon saint2e's player uploading page, canucks357's networking and promotion skills, and the experience of former National Team GMs.

I should add that I'd also like to solicit the help of prominent French Canadians managers to reach out to the non-English speaking Canadian GMs.
I want as large a pool of players to select from as is possible and I want every Canadian GM to feel like they are a part of the National Team.

One thing we have to keep in mind is the new changes to the game. You can't have wingers with 250OFF and 10Passing it doesn't make much sense in real life and thankfully with the new changes it won't in PPM anymore. I got some testing planned for the new season to see how these changes pan out. I think passing will be the key to a solid offensive game, not just shooting.
I nominated for saltyanchovy, the manager for Shinodas.. He's excellent, he introduced me to the game and helped me develop my crappy team into a great one.
Support Shinodas!

i feel like i covered everything i wanted to in the election page, so if you think i can do the job.. elect me (:
the only thing i want to add is that with prospects, i'll be looking at their OR in comparison to other players' OR for their age specifically. so say if prospect A has 500 OR, but is 18, and prospect B has 450 OR, but is 17, i'd go with prospect B because prospect B is in a higher percentile OR for his age than prospect A
i think my resume is pretty good, and i believe that it shows i know how to manage a team
once again, i'm open to ideas. i want everyone (who wants to know what's going on) involved in this
lastly, thanks anthony for the support!
and if any manager has questions regarding the game, i'd be my pleasure to help you out

I like you ideas overall. My only concern is a lack of shooting. I just don't want to see a great looking team with almost no ability to shoot.
again, that was just the guideline i had in mind. i agree that shooting is an important aspect of the game and the shooting ratio i suggested was just a minimum. i would much prefer wingers with 6-5 (pri-sho) ratio, but most teams in canada doesn't have that ratio it seems, so i decided to type 6-4 just so that our top end guys can make the team. but thanks for the input! (:
I always think about women and their geographical features. Is that what you're talking about?
