Well I have inherited a pretty crap basketball side. Currently ranked 42nd in Australia in Team Strength. Better do some SA investing!
Got thumped by Suromias, Maroubra Dolphins 100+ vs 80 in a friendly after his best player scored 42 points!!! And my best player (which is not very good anyway) collected 4 personal fouls in the first 7 minutes to get subbed off! . But congrats to the Dolphins.

51 Aussie basketball managers today (88 soccer ones incidently too)... that number for basketball is more than I thought we might get.
This basketball game is a bit of a challenge... So many tactical and sub options. Too complex for newbies maybe?
Maybe, but hardcore gamers want more options.
this is what I call success ((=
winning 4 out of 5 competition in regular season..

I've been playing around with an EOR system that doesn't use a primary attribute. Works well so far. Have set my ratios as follows:
Biggest influence: 30%
Big influence: 25%
regular influence: 20%
small: 15%
smallest: 10%
Over all 5 positions the total each equals 100%. This doesn't take into account shooting, blocking or height, which i am still working into the calculations.

Well I have not done too well this year, but haven't had the players either... So in some ways I am similar to you, just dependent on what your shooting blocking are.
Biggest influence = 80
Big influence = 60
Regular = 50
Small influence = 40
Smallest = 20
Shooting and blocking about 60-80.

Any thoughts on these ratios... shooting vs blocking? Do they seem right for positions?
Position - Shooting - Blocking
C - 60 - 140
PF - 80 - 120
PG - 100 - 100
SF - 130 - 70
SG - 150 - 50

PG - 100 - 100

SG - 150 - 50
The guide says shooting guards shoot the most and point guards the least so my variation of your order is PG, C, PF, SF, SG.
Also, for no reason other than the short forward's other skills are all equal, I've made his shooting and blocking equal as well and jiggled everyone's ratios from there.
However, I'm pretty sure I'm wrong since the ratings don't match up.

PG do seem to take more long range shots which need shooting skill looking at my player stats, hence I've given my PG shooting skill. Close shots don't need shooting.
yeah, it seems to be that way (PG's) as while I was away for week and couldn't log in I let all players train shooting (=
.. then I got back and find surprise.. especially my SG (Griffis) is the only one who score over 35 pts per game compare others that do 15-20 on average (equal sh, block + tech) now I gave him some speed and it seems to working well too..
not sure about other ratios yet, srry

Players getting training improvements so slowly, will take a couple of seasons for my ratios to take effect.
