Unfortunately the first formation you showed worked probably just because of the way the system works...
I think that based on how close to the edge of a position you are, the more you help the position closest to that edge..
So all the players were in the center.... but all of them were on the edges near left and right, so they all sent a portion of their help to the wings...

they really suffered on forward possession...

I think that it would be very hard for the engine to punish that kinda setup...

As a side note...
That guy has really good players.. somehow while on low he constantly has his player ratings higher than people playing medium...

Think those formation could work, cause the game is full random, otherwise how can he play a draw with 9 players??? Football needs years to become realistic....

This guy has no central defensive midfielder and no central defenders. My team should have shot at the goal every other minute! Look at the possession in front of the goal and in cm. And I had the higher importance and better players.
Like Jimbo said, football is very far from realistic.

i have to agree. the more i participate in soccer/football, the more i wonder if it should have stayed in beta a while longer.

Hmm. Think one can conclude that a gap on the team selection doesnot mean a big gap in the ME.

Its normal that rback and lback will go defend center much. I suspect the wingbacks aided as well, more as they also had no opposition much. It could be that if you played two wingers with one striker , the ME will act different and you might get more oppertunities...>?

I was referee while 12 years. I could not remember more than one single match I had to give 3 penalties to same team!! and this were about 400 matches I refereed. so the possibility to miss 3 times is really really small... but it's not zero ;o)

If im right Jari Litamanen have ever missed a pealty in adults game.
