Just got the scouting report back from Medeiros, goalie from Qc Nordiques. He is 2nd best goalie for his group age at the moment. He has been added and will get a regular turn in order to get his chemistry up. Our three-headed beast led by Merton with Crowe and Medeiros make our goalie situation as solid as it gets.
It starts today folks! Big test from the start as we face one of the very best teams.
I like to see how the tournament goes before I decide to stick another ssn or not. I will decide soon.
An important game against Latvia. Could go either way. Whoever loses is likely to be relegated, although UK could also slip to last.
Well, Lady luck wasn't on our side. Then again, would it be Lady luck if she always was?
At least UK gets a beatdown and I believe that should allow us to advance. No relegation is always the first win we look to, so check on that one.
The next win we look for, playoffs placement, will be harder because we carry no point forward (our win came against the team that relegated).
Nevertheless, we will try our best to make things happen and propel Canada forward.

Welp, another close loss. We just haven't been able to catch a break yet. Those tournaments go fast. We need to win our last two in order to have a chance to move forward. On top of that, we need Latvia to lose both or Hungary to lose their last two. Tough to ask since Hungary is always a strong team.
We will see. Of course, we will also battle hard until the end.

In other news, I have decided to toss my hat in the ring for another season at U20s. One season isn't enough to fully flex my tactics muscles and see what I can do with this NT. I have definitely felt the discrepancy in talent on our team vs the top teams more than with the U18s. It's a different challenge, but I feel we hung in there this season and another season of VH intensity games should bring our tactics % to levels that give us a better chance for success.

We won against Hungary, which is nice, but because we need OT to win against Portugal, our road ends here.
It is too bad, we really had trouble scoring goals this SSN. It is, however, a decent showing. We are not a powerhouse and we are not getting relegated. A little luck and we could have been in. While it's true every year, I feel like we were a little bit on the wrong side of luck this season.

I have added a bunch of players to the NT without taking too much time to look into it yet. It was mostly so that our games are played early on. So if your guy wasn't picked and he's better than some of the crappier guys I picked, go ahead and complain, I will pick more players soon.
I'm putting this out there ahead of time: I will not go for another season at the helm of the U20. It is a fun mandate, but I have been too busy and have not been able to take proper care of it this season. I will, of course, try my best during the tournament, but preparation has not been optimal because of my lack of time.

Yes!!! One committed to doing their best!! We have recently had some who thought the elections were a popularity contest, and after winning the spot, did nothing!! We had another forfeit in soccer yesterday!!! Unacceptable!!!
Absolutely. And remember, a vote for Roedb in next season's U20 elections removes those "forfeit" stains and replaces them with possible "punishing defeats"... So vote Roedb for U20 manager !
