We quite often see negative financial things happen (vandals, extra expenses etc), so how about sometimes we get extra money coming in too? Doesn't have to be much and as the negatives are based on your Arena Custodians, how about having positives on your Marketing along the lines of 'An extra sponsor has been found for the boards / match night programme / penalty box' etc ??

I like that idea... perhaps directly related to the marketing ability of your managers?

You don't get bonus money in real hockey outside of attendance and targeted marketing (for attendance) there are already booths you can build in your arena to sell the extra items to boost income as well.

I agree. Very rarely, if ever, do teams get financial bonuses other than things like ticket sales.

You're right. Teams never get liscencing fees for their products and logos.

Of course you do. The marketing guys are generating extra income all the time from different deals. From an advert in the match night magazine to naming rights for the stadium.

The product and logo fees are what you're selling at the souvenir booths in your arena - jerseys hats etc etc. You generate money in your yearly arena and tv sponsorship. I can understand the want for "realism" but it wouldn't add anything to the game but a programming headache for the devs.

You just use the same code that's in place for the financial hits.

I've been thinking about scouting - it is rather funny that it's already the third season and I still haven't succeeded to scout all of my players.
The one by one scouting is probably not the best option as in rl all the players are being watched at the same time - some more some less though.

So, I think that in a period of at least one season the players would 'reveal' their qualities, no matter if they're scouted or not. The scouting process should just boost the progress of 'quality revelation'.

Hi, I've posted here to come with two serious and really renovating ideas.

The first one is about the promotion rule.
From what I've heard it has happened a lot of times that the regular season-champion didn't make it to the next division because his/her team lost in the playoffs. If you have to compete with a team which has just entered the game, you would probrably lose because there is a significant diffrence between the tirednesses of the two teams. My idea is that the RS nr.1 (winner of the regular season) and the playoff nr.1 automatically make it to the next division, and the RS nr.2 plays a Promotion or degradation match. If it happens that the RS nr.1 becomes the winner of the playoffs, then the RS nr.2 gets his promotion and the playoff nr.2/nr.3 (depending on the playoff result of RS nr.2) plays the Promotion or degradation match.
This may seem complicated, but it has many positive effects:
-Situations in which the RS champion doesn't make it to the next division because he/she lost the quarterfinals or the semifinals will disappear.
-You get rewarded for being the best over 90 days, not for having luck in a mere two weeks.
-The regular season gains importancy. Now you have 90 days to 'qualify' for the playoffs, because nothing is decided in the regular season.

The second one is about the rewards.
A little less renovating, a little more obvious.
For being RS champion you get LESS money then you get for being playoff champion. In the dutch third division you get 5 million for winning the playoffs and two million for winning the RS. So for 6 to 9 matches you get 5 million, and for 38 matches you get 2 million. That is about 555.556 to 833.333 per playoff match and about 52.632 per RS-match. Do I have to say more? You may say that the prize money you get for having a high rank in the playoff should be higher than in the regular season because otherwise teams who have won the regular season lose the motivation to try their best. But personally, I think that a manager who doesn't try hard at the playoffs because he's already got the promotion in his pocket, isn't a real manager. Only real managers win the regular season. On top of that is the solution that you lower the playoff-rewards just a bit and that you increase the RS prize money a lot.

How about first time when you wish to rename team is free or you must paid some ppm money??? Because I think it's too much to spend 30 credits for that.

Hmmm I think there should be a charge, but 30 credits is shitloads too many.

30 Credits is not much. Changing mangername is too expensive
