I see many teams playing with 4-4-4 lines in matches, why? To raise chem in case of injury or are there any deeper meaning of this?
I've heard the argument that if your 3rd and 4th line are of equal strength, you're not really saving anything by not playing your 4th line. I don't know that I agree.
If you play 3 lines, you are fielding your top line 1/3rd of the time, not 1/4th of the time. The same for your second line. So your top two lines are fielded 66.67% of the time, instead of only 50% when you roll 4 lines.
The downside to that is that players perform worse when their energy level is lower, and when you use only 3 lines, their energy is down about 27 points from where they started the game, vs. the 14-15ish range when fielding 4 lines.
So even though your top guys are on the ice more, they aren't performing as well.
It's a judgement call ... you need to decide how much worse you think you team plays with less energy, and decide what your goals are in terms of building chemistry, winning games, training, etc.

Why? because we feel like it. There are benefits to both and drawbacks to both and so those of us who play 4 do so because we prefer the benefits it provides.
1. More players earn chemistry and experience
2. players get less tired for the day and therefore have more time to practice.
to me this outweighs the benefits of
1. better lines (my #2 scorer is on my 4th line)
2. more experience earned by those that play.
but there is no right or wrong on this issue its purely personal preference.

You've basically touched on the key points. 3 lines your top guys get more minutes. But you use 25% of energy I believe which means you lose something in training. Chemistry also a factor as mentioned. If you play friendlies and put your 4th line with 100 chem guys your fine. If you have newer players without chem it would take seasons using 3 lines on league days. Another factor is with 3 lines your top players will have better stats which can potentially bring in some very good individual prize money.
Thanks for the answers.. was not sure about this energy thing.
Do players lose more energy when playing 3lines or what do you mean? The energyloss to the playoffs will be the same, only different is training every day then? So you could perhaps say 4-4-4 vs 3-3-3 is more a future playing style for building your team?
But if you wanna win games today 3-3-3 is the best way to go right?

No,
If you play with 4 lines, your players will have much more energy at the last minutes of match and thus they're more likely to score.
Seasonal energy drop is same for 4 and 3 lines but current energy drop isn't.

In theory yes 3-3-3 should give you a better chance to win since you will have better players on the ice all the time.
However in the case of my team, the talent difference between my 2-4 lines is so minimal I choose to play my 4th every day.
The energy I am referring to is the "Daily Energy" which only affects training for that day. Two teams playing the same number of games, same players every day, on "normal," with one team playing 3 lines and one playing 4 lines will have the same "seasonal energy" come playoff time. Seasonal energy is only affected by whether you play low, normal or high; how many lines has no impact.

Sure? I thought the # of Lines rolled had an impact on Seasonal Energy, though I don't have any proof.
It doesn't. See energy in the guide but lines effects daily and not seasonal. I ran 3 lines most of last season. Got what I wanted which was lots of individual prize money. But with great regularity they played poorer in the 3rd period. Switched back to 4 this year.
I don't understand this: one guy said on Romanian forum that he's best training performance is 0.60. I entered his team page and saw this......training facility 5, regeneration 4, trainers OR 30, 29......my training facility is 9 level, regeneration 7, trainers 42, 39 OR......and I played almost all my mathces this season with low importance and my best performance in training is 0.75-0.77 (the quality of attribute 99). what the hell? last season somebody else said that he is training 0.90 with lower leves than mine too.
can anybody explain me what happens?

If he wasn't at camp, did that player participate in a game that day? ... did yours? Is that 99Q scouted?
4 possibilities:
1. training camp
2. 99 quality
3. training camp and a high quality
4. he's lying
1. training camp
2. 99 quality
3. training camp and a high quality
4. he's lying
he said that usually best performance is 0.60. 0.75 is the best for me today (in training camp i had 1.30 ). i just can't understand..... 94Q mine, but i have 99Q too, with 0.70-0.75
