Just starting out. I was looking for suggestions on the education center and trying to understand its importance in the early game. Should I develop it early on to try to train staff, or put it off, wait until I have a more consistent team established, and then work on developing the education center to develop staff? Thanks.

Importance of facilities (for beginners):

1. Human resources and economic department
2.-3. Sports academy / Training facility (equal importance)
4. Regeneration facility
5.-6. Maintenance center / Medical center (equal importance)
7. Education center

That's my view. Someone else could say training comes first, but in my opinion you should build first 3 facilities on close distance until you reach 10th level, then training can retain 1st position by importance.

Yes and all should have to read it before they can spend anything.

Training and Regen should always be equal. HR is vital for beginners also as it helps bring in more money, and money is EVERYTHING.

Thanks Popeye for the outline. HR and Training were my first priorities, with regeneration as the second. I originally wanted to develop the education department, but am starting to see that its not worth it right now, since I need to get the team into a more competitive location first before I start working on staff.

Right now I'm slowly rebuilding my roster with cheap but decent free market players, developing my stadium to a large stand up, and working on facilities.

Buying cheap well trained strong players is best way. You will be ok then

I agree with Popeчe that the first 3, but also SA, should be fairly equal until they reach level 10. After that my list would be:

1. TF
2. HR
3. SA
4. RF
5-6. Maint - Medic
7. Edu

Like it has been said, one can argue if HR or TF is most important. HR provides sponsorship money, scouts players, etc. The key here money, and moneymaking. But it does not matter if you have a very good HR department if you don't win your matches. Something TF helps with. Better development of players both increases your chance of winning (because of stronger team), but also it increases the value of your players faster (due to quicker training).

I was also tempted to add arena to the list, and I would place it around 3. place. It of course brings you more income from spectators, but also helps in giving a better media sponsor. But again, no point in having a big arena if you don't win your matches.

SA is a bit of a gamble, but all inn all (from my experience), I would recommend it. For me personally, it has not just paid for it self AND the staff from day one until now, but it has also provided me with 16 of my starting 22 players. So again, in my experience, a good investment. But please note, I don't know if I have been lucky or not, so this of course may not apply to everyone.

I have placed RF relatively low on my list. As a rule, I usually try to keep RF withing 2-3 levels of my TF. The reason for this, is that I haven't seen any big improvement in training when my RF has been upgraded. This is my own experience, and I have also read others say the same.

Summary is maint can save you a good amount of money when your arena and facilities are well upgraded.
Medical on the other hand, I don't have anything to go by, other then gut feeling. And my gut tells me that money is best used other places. My Med. C. is at lvl 10, and I will maybe go up to 12-13 in the future, but right now, injuries are not a big problem.

Edu. is one of those if or not. Some have probably made a lot of money on it, in training coaches and managers with high marketing skills. But I don't know enough about it to say much.

You can not talk about facilities without saying something about staffers. For new guys, I just want to say; BE CAREFUL!

Knuckle's guide to success for PPM newbies

If you play division 1 the only goal is to win cups while keeping the income vs costs balanced. If you play in lower leagues (as a rookie you always start in the lower divisions), the goal is to maximise profit.


Step1:

For a rookie the only way to be successfull is to buy old well trained players (cheap guys around 10-50k $) on the market to make your team competive enough for the lowest leage level.



Step 2: Arena

Build it to medium/large stands. Keep it there. Once you get 100 Mil plus from sponsors, start upgrading to tripple multi.



Step 3: Facilities

Training/ Regeneration Facility: You don't need it because you don't have good young players to train anyway.

Sports Academy: The further the game proceeds the higher the number of players pulled into the system every week, meaning it becomes more and more difficult to pull decent prospects on lower levels (1-10). In season 2 and 3 you could pull superstars with level 5/6. It's almost impossible now, as the chance to pull talented prospects (not the quality just the chance) depends on the level of the academy. The system will even out a bit, when more teams have their academy built to level 15. Don't build it!

Education Center: You don't even need to know what staff is until your facilities reach level 10/11.

Medical Center: You wou won't have good players in foreseeable future. It doesn't matter if your players get hurt. Keep it at level 1.

Maintanance Center: Depends on arena and HR Department.

HR Department. Prime facility to build. The extra income in sponsor money will put you into position to build the other facilities.



Summary

Buy veteran players, build HR department and arena first. As the maintainance costs go up, build maintenance center. Each level of maintainance center saves 2% facility and arena costs.
Result: high income and very low costs as you don't have to maintain the other facilites and pay for staff.
Upgrade your team with veterans every now and then to keep your team competitive enough. Players that cost 100k today will cost 10k tommorrow. But keep an eye on their wages. Once you have a full arena and HR at level 12/13 only then start building the other facilities. Hire staff when your facilities reach level 10/11.
