You have exactly 1 week after the elections to boot the kids out of the team. (and 1 week after worlds before the next election results). It's okay, Parlour gets regular play time, his exp will be up to par when comes the time (he was actually fringe last season, and I only included him because we had too many high shooting Ds and not enough D specialists, so unless his CL plays into it a lot, he may not even be a starter next season either)
Unlike a certain president south of our border, we here in Dunnville are sensitive to world issues and are actively engaged in doing our part in keeping the players involved in this great game safe. Like us, you also might be concerned about the U20 team's upcoming game in Italy next week. We have been in contact with PPM officials and are actively lobbying them to consider cancelling next weekend's game versus the U20 Italian team or, failing that, to at least play the encounter in an empty arena considering their nation's current situation in regards to the Covid-19 virus. Rest assured, team management is actively involved in this rapidly developing situation!

I am quite puzzled that Raven hasn't been used on the NT for most of the season and seems to be left out for the upcoming playoffs. 1500 OR universal dman. Are there really 8 better defensemen on the team?
No. His chem is very high so he hasn't played. World roster can be submitted anytime before first game.
Ah ok. My memory of this was that it needed to be submitted 24 hours before the first game.
My memory is bad. All good.

Okay. For those of you who don't know the guide, let's get acquainted with the section about the national team. First sentence reads:
Make sure you read the guide
which I do and did last night. Under the national team, it says:
Before each friendly game, the national team general manager can call up a maximum of 28 players who will be available on the game day. This roster must be selected at least one day before the game.
General manager can use a maximum of 28 players during the World Championships. Players may be added to the roster during the tournament until all the 28 places are filled. Before each friendly game, the national team general manager can call up a maximum of 28 players who will be available on the game day. This roster must be selected at least one day before the game.
The national team general manager must set the lineup and tactics before the start of the game calculation. The times of game calculation according to age category are listed in the table below.
Age category Game calculation (CET)
Senior 20:45
Under 20 19:45
Under 18 18:45
There is more, but this is the important stuff.

Sorry, I need to edit the last one but it won't let me. The guide reads:
General manager can use a maximum of 28 players during the World Championships. Players may be added to the roster during the tournament until all the 28 places are filled. There is no need to call up players one day in advance during the World Championships.
I draw your attention to the last sentence, that we do NOT need to give the one day advance notice during the World's. What does this mean? Well, that is not entirely clear I am afraid. The key word here is "during". My guess here is that the person who wrote this is referring to the fact that the GM can add players "to the roster during the tournament". I have no idea how anyone would choose to not put all 28 players on the roster before the first game but I guess there are some strange individual who do this. My understanding of "during" means between the last friendly and the first game of the World's since, I am very sure, most of us put our guys up at one time. So, based on this, I chose to leave my selections until AFTER the injury reports were issued today just in case. And of course now the deadline has passed and I can't make any changes.

Well, I hope you can get this resolved. And if not, best of luck with the lineup in place.
Why is this? I have no idea. The guide says that I DO NOT NEED to give one day's notice (during the World's). I have no idea why this would be left ambiguous. Note in the guide how the specific point of when the game line ups need to be posted, but the actual roster for the World's is left kind of vague. I may not be much of a math/tech guy but I understand that the basics of "orders of operations" says that we should make sure that the roster is set correctly first, then worry about the line-ups. No? I haven't heard the excuse back yet that the reason for this is because the organizers want to protect the club teams from having one of their players called up at the last minute and screw up their weekend game, like during the friendly season. But that, unfortunately, is not a valid reason since obviously the guide is saying that those strange GM's who like to gradually add players to the national roster can go ahead and screw these club GM's on Sunday's game instead!
So their is no reason really. It is just the way that the guide was written and, rather than just edit it, they blame their own lack of language acumen on the people that actually read the guide, which they tell us to. "It's not fair to the other GM's". Really!? Why is it unfair to the other GM's that the Canadian national team put out their best squad and not some rookie, friendly squad that has no business being there. It has the same logical presentation as the crooked insurance salesman who tricks you into signing the contract and then telling you that you should have read the fine print beforehand. Problem is, I did. And they are so crooked that they just left the language vague.
