I have contact with him and have asked 
PPMe is no longer being developed/updated. If it works, great! If not, not much I can do anymore.
Seems to still work with 44 as the xpinstall.signatures.required option is still available.

I have and it still seems to work.
For me, it doesnt work properly for a while. Not after this update.
The edit button doesnt show up, so I cant edit the ratio (s) .

I'm hesitant to make any changes for that reason. Unfortunately the developer of the add-on, a good buddy of mine, isn't on PPM anymore and can't justify spending time on the app when one person (aside from myself) even donated a few bucks for his time and effort.
I bet people would be willing to donate more now because the fact that this app is dying away is reality 
There's a mentality on the internet that everything should be free. If you can get enough people to say "sure, I'll chip in $10" I'm sure I could convince him to take half a day or a day off work and update it.
Could you ask him how much would he want to make the app work again? I could also donate something.
