I can confirm Big Fatty Cats are a dangerous team.

yeah... actually, I was gonna post about that, but the post was already too long as it was.

I already thought of that, and the problem with that is, in order to win games (to get OTR) from the cup winners cup, he'll have to spend much more energy than he did last season.

Two things about that:

1)
This will lead to him (possibly) losing more league games, so any OTR gained from the CWC would be washed out by increased losses in league play.

2)
As I'm sure other teams can attest from previous seasons, the competition at the international level is such that he might not even win games at that level even when he DOES blow a ton of energy.

Only 1 team in his CWC division has a team rating lower than his... and it's a rather meaningless 1 point difference... so winning even 1 game in the CWC is hardly a sure thing.

So sure, he could get more OTR from that... but he could also have gotten OTR from that had he advanced.

I guess you could argue that because he's in the lower league, he has the luxury of spending more energy on CWC (than if he had advanced), but even if he does that, team ratings suggest he's pretty outclassed.

I'd be pretty surprised if he does any better than Lehigh did this season.

Yeah, I saw their team rating the other day and was pretty shocked.

They look like they can roll pretty good.

I'm certainly glad that we didn't have BFC and Cunning Procrastinators coming up in the same year.

It looks like I had great luck with CL this season. Only one player, my backup goaltender, dropped to 4, and my good 22 year old is still at 4. I think one wing and a bunch of prospects I don't really care about dropped to 5. 2/4 of my 18 year olds are still at 6, as well as my 2 good pulls from last season and the 16 year old that is my star player.

I'm a bit surprised that my shooting seems to have lagged so much, though I'm happy my overall team strength jumped from 26 to 35.

oooooops... tactics were on Very High still.

It seems I started out the season well, though it was probably against the Doppelgangers' B or C team. Even so, I'll take the win against one of the likely contenders.

Yeah i was retarded and started my camp a day later than i meant to.

I was hoping my first match would have been against am easier team so that i could maybe sneak by.

Oh well... plenty of time left in the season.

Just to clear some doubts:

I am getting past the preliminary round of CWC right behind Freaky Friday.

I had no access to the internet during the league cup, otherwise I would have won.

Kinda glad I didn't, as I would have had to play my crappy B team for regular league until I was done with CWC and NC, and then use a tired A line-up to barely make top 8(if I had been lucky[which I'm not]).

I plan on top 8 in the NC.

I am going to get that OTR up, don't worry.

Btw... when i saw that i played you the first day and read that your team rating went all the way up to 35 (an increase of like 10 points), i was like, HOLY SH*T, hahaha. I was ready to cry.

But then I remembered that they said in one of the recent updates that they tweaked how team ratings are calculated this season.

I'm not sure how they tweaked them, but hopefully my squad also receives a significant boost in team strength. If not, I'm gonna have a hard time competing this season... =/

I think a lot of teams will be spending a bit more energy this season because of the changes with attendance, chemistry, and experience... so you might not have been as bad off as you'd think.

I think I missed the update about the tweaked ratings.

I played a lot of last season on hard trying to make the playoffs or at least to get a good handicap for the relegation round, so I had extremely low energy at the end of last season.

It looks like there are a lot of competitive teams in this league at the moment with no clear front runner. It looks close enough that a team with a good use of tactics and substitutions could win. There are 8 teams with 33-36 team strength (9 including additional teams ending camp - basically your team). There will be at least one or two good teams that miss the playoffs. Looking at the rosters of the teams that were running camps, your team will probably be about on par with the top 9 and the Edison Illuminating Company will likely be the favorite with two national team caliber players on the team, though they probably won't be unbeatable.

The EIC is definitely not unbeatable. Their manager is lazy and inconsistent

I'm seriously wondering what effect game intensity has though. Runnyonion and I are about as evenly matched as it gets, and I blew a ton of energy to just barely beat him by 1 point, while he played on VL the entire game.

PPM just keeps on throwing curve balls at me every time I think i figure it out a little bit.

Handball has blown my mind so many times that I've given up for now. Instead of trying to counter my opponents, I just try to do what I think is best for my team now.

I thought I had soccer figured out last season. I played it almost perfectly. Of course I had my usual lapses, but it was a very good season as far as player progression went. I had 4 forwards who could put the ball in the net. All had pretty good GPG averages(0.62-0.92). So I thought I was in great shape.

Then this season happened. Instead of challenging for third, I'm thinking that I'll be lucky to hang onto 5th. I'll probably finish in 7th. I got pissed off a few weeks ago and started playing everything on High. My players are paying the price. I wish there was something like Career Energy just so I could hurt them even more.
