When it comes to the strength numbers in OTR for shooting, and in the game review screens, how is the shooting calculated?
Shooting per line = average of shot attribute for all 5 players. Shooting in OTS in terms of stars is the average of those 4 (or 3) numbers.
That's what I thought, but when I added up each lines shooting attributes, they averaged out to 48.2, or 48, and this is way above my OTS rating of 26.
That's a pretty simple calculation.. Offense/Defenseman doesn't come into play?
It's probably a bit more complicated than that. I think it's weighted more to count on the forwards' shooting than the defensemen...

Last time I looked at this myself it was an average of all players (D included) for each line. The OTS then was a scalar multiple of the average shooting of all lines. I know for a fact D impact shooting because when I switched D pairs (to test this awhile back) the shooting on each line changed dramatically.

I'm wondering, if I train shooting to as high as the primary, while keeping a 2-1-1 ratio in the main attributes, will it be affected negatively?
It shouldn't. I've found tech to help s% but raising shooting won't make him worse. In my view, it'll just make him less efficient but that is my opinion.
i think all of those attributes things are subject to change with the different tactics you're using, you go with counter attack high shooting with wingers or defense you should get high shooting with defenseman bit it'S like canucks said it'S just my opinion
Tactics has nothing to do with players' skills !
Maybe he means more of the "if you 'win' on tactics your shots should be higher" perhaps? So Noname plays normal and I play offensive so I outshoot him 31 to 10. Or maybe i am just reading it wrong : P
Offensive is not the counter tactic for Normal !
