Great another 1 goal loss, this time in NC, the 8th one of the year.

Another amazing win against a top team, without 2 main central defenders and a top striker.

I was curious how other teams handle heading for forwards. Heading is considered to be of relatively minor importance in the guide, but I would think that it would be more important for forwards. I have one forward that I train heavily in heading, though I can't really tell if it has made a difference.

I only train it at 30% on mine. Forwards need to train shooting so much higher than other positions, as well as tech and speed (and pass for SFs) that I'm not sure the payoff of more heading is worth lowering the other attributes much.

In other news, all is right with the I.1 standings finally - after a slow start, I have ascended to my rightful position of 4th place, with all pretenders to MY spot situated suitably beneath my gaze.

What zomg said. Also, I think the only position where Heading is worth training more than the guide says is CD, since that's basically the only way they score, and it also helps to clear crosses and what not

Holy. Don't know whats going with my team, but i dont remember when my team won so many games against top dogs.

Man, I'm about ready to give up on this season. I don't know what's going on with my shooting, but it's really just atrocious this season. Once again I dominate the game, including 23 shots--13 on target--only to lose when my team can only put one in the net but lets up two goals on three shots on target.

I hate to sound like I'm whining, so lets call it venting. But I just don't know what to do at this point. Used to be, I felt like my team stole as many undeserved points as it gave up, but we're just giving them away all over the place now. Halfway through the season, and my team has already squandered points in a similar fashion against Corona, the Wildcats, and Grisons, all at home. Maybe my forwards are getting a bit older, but I haven't changed ratios at all, and Schoenknecht is still putting up one of the higher IGRs in the league.

Suffice to say, fourth place and eleven points behind first is not really where I had hoped to be at the halfway point this time around.

To be fair, there are only 2 teams that you can "steal" points from, so the random factor is going to do more damage to you than it the rest of us.

Yeah, fair point. And perhaps I shouldn't complain so much...I definitely still have a solid team. In my defense, I had a couple beers while watching the BC-UMass Lowell hockey game just before posting, which probably made me more prone to wanting everybody else to feel my pain. I'm just getting frustrated watching them play so well with no result! It's starting to feel like every stint I've ever had as NT manager.

That said, I don't necessarily feel like the only teams I can "steal" points from are Corona and Boilermakers. Especially on the road, there are a bunch of teams where I feel like taking any points would be a success and a win would be stealing points (e.g. Bombsville, where I definitely felt like I got away with one for the first time this season when I won a couple games ago). Actually, I'd put the Psychos, who I lost to today, in that category too if we match game importance, but he went VL to my N/H.

Aaaand now PPM makes me look like more of a jackass by giving me a game that I probably didn't deserve. Maybe I'll just shut up now.

hahahaha... Was freaking out and forgot to change my tactics for the cwc--- Jedidiah went in for Adams at CF and scored the only goal. lol
