Hope it is just out of ignorance...ir happens with unexperienced NT managers. Sad but will see..
For the game against Finland the lineup was crap. Is there a manager behind the wheel? At leat our senior NT looks like its ranking!
I fear that this is a sign of the times, and the direction of our future!! The loss of top teams in every sport, has decreased the number of qualified managers who are interested, and have the experience to manage our national teams. Our soccer and basketball national programs appear to be the early casualties. Both have low experience managers in national team manager positions. If not for Krokador, we would have the same situation in handball! Low experience managers have no idea what is involved in being a national team manager. They do not have the tools to research players. They have no understanding of the tricks of the trade that can give them that small advantage that you always need on the international scene. Often they do not sign in regularly. Because of this they make far to many mistakes that cause our national world ranking to drop. National world rankings are based on the last four years, so one bad year affects a four year period. I strongly urge experienced managers to run for more of these positions, and to take experience into account when voting in the elections. If not, we run the risk of having a manager with 11 days experience run in an election which he could win with one vote for himself.
Agreed. Hope we are not the only one interested. I'll be happy to coach any serious volunteer.
I too am willing to assist anyone who is serious about learning the ropes.
I agree with all of this, I'm just going to be that guy who points out you can't run until you get to 50 days I think.

I looked for that info , but couldn't find it. In this country, we have had less than satisfactory results from the low level experience national managers who won in this season's elections regardless of the sport! They seem to be more concerned with their pride of election victory than maintaining the pride of our countries world cup ranking. Most are ill-equipped to carry on successfully the work of their predecessor.
I hear ya on that. It's got to be frustrating! Basketball isn't doing all that well for us, your neighbors to the south, but I think for us that's mostly population problems (not enough managers).
Here's the section where I saw it: "amateur 51-100 the option to take a small loan, PRO pack for 7 days, the option to run for national team manager"

Thanks. Based on info off the site, the USA has 111 "Active" managers, and Canada has 35. Not a lot of talent coming out of the few academies that can produce it!!
Wow! It's remarkable you guys do as well as you do! I hope you all succeed.
Thanks. There are a few truly dedicated national managers in each sport who welcome the challenge to be an underdog!!!
From the intro on the actual election site!!
"To be a candidate you need to have manager experience of at least 51."

Okay here's he thing
We've been going about it all wrong
My player is 22 on 5 years younger than any other player on the National team.
You know what that means?
It means he's getting training that no other player even close to his age is getting so obviously he'll reach the point where he's good enough way sooner.
And he'll obviously pick up training skills that no other player in the country is getting.
Want to be better in the future?
Trim the old guys and put the best of our young players on the team and they will better.
Even if we lose, when we mature we will better than we've ever been

Cleland had an in-game rating of 110 at the beginning of the current season. Playing has dropped him through loss of energy to a 103 in-game rating.
Johnrose, who is currently playing the same position as Cleland would on the national team, had a 161 in-game rating at the beginning of the current season, and loss of energy through playing has dropped him to a 146 in-game rating.
The "old guy" clearly wins hands down, and even if Cleland could improve his in-game rating by 10 points a year which is next to impossible, he won't catch the "old guy" for a minimum of 5 seasons. Go with the "old guy"!!!

You've missed the point completely. This has nothing to do with in game ratings. It's about young players getting extra skill points. We've limited just how good they can be by not allowing them to grow when younger. He's being used extra to bring up his exp. In 5 seasons he'll be just 27 and because he's on the team now he is growing at a rate not possible if he wasn't on the team. There are so many players on the team that don't and won't play in the future. They should be replaced by players that would be better than they're going to be. Canada will stay without improvement until we get players that are more highly skilled and that's what other countries have. How do we get there? I've given you a template but you didn't understand it
