With only two games to go before the playoffs the action is heating up in the USA i1 league  with 4 teams within a point from 6th - 9th.

The STL Saints continued their freefall this week dropping all three games (7 of the last 8) to end the week outside the top 8 for the first time in memory.  Their remaining two games see them play the 4th placed Americans and the 10th placed Swamp Foxes who are on a roll (winning 6 of the last 8) and so it will be extremely tough for the Saints to make it from here.

The Red Wings also have a tough two games playing the Irresistable Force and then the N.©.New York Hellraisers who will be disappointed that they are unlikely to make the finals given the team they have.  Even if the Red wings lose both matches they will stay in the top 8 unless the Saints can win both their matches.

The Wasphawks play two lowly placed teams and so should win both their remaining matches to secure a finals birth. 

The biggest game this week is between the Michigan Hawks and Capitol Hill tonight at Stanton Park Iceplex with the loser likely to be the worst placed of the current top 8 at the end of the regular season.  As the Michigan Hawks play the Psychos in the last game of the regular season, a loss against Capitol Hill could very well see them end the regular season without adding any further points and thus be within striking distance of both the Swamp Foxes and the N.©.New York Hellraisers.
