With authority...after losing two FA's to last minute payouts by their teams last week and then the screw up with the FA market the next day...
Today my bid for UK player Boris Burnett was rejected not once, but actually TWICE by the guy and his agent. You know you are not wanted when...

Wow, that's rough. I remember losing my best defenseman for like 20k once because I had somehow ended up in the red when I tried to pay his compensation. I hate that system so much
You might have been better off to take out a small loan to keep him. Recently, I had an "old guy" as a UFA. No one bid on him. I was marginally in the red, but because he was marked "yes" tor resigning, and because no one had bid on him, he stayed with my team putting me even further into the red ink.
Yeah a loan or even destroying a small part of your arena (if you are already paying off a loan). Sometimes it's worth it.
Depends on the player of course.

I already had a loan out at the time, and was only like 200k in the red (meaning next wednesday I was going to be back in the green). I just didn't realize there was a message "you cannot resign a player when you are in the negative". I thought it was a done deal when I clicked. It even took me a while to understand why that had happened cuz I wasn't in the red anymore when I lost him, so I was certain I'd paid, y'know. You live and learn
"Older, wiser, and deeper in debt" is the saying, I believe.
How important is chemistry with tactics?
Just wondering if its better to hit the winning tactic even if I have 0%, or pick a neutral tactic that I have 70%+.

It has been my expereince that picking the right tactic will more likely generate a win than using one with a high proficiency percentage. I have won games with a 0% tactic because it was the proper one. I have also lost games with the wrong high percentage tactic. The ultimate aim is to gain proficiency in all the tactics so that you may use the one you deem best suited. Remember, picking the right tactic does not guarantee the win, it merely gives you increased odds of winning against a comparable opponent. Also, as the difference in the two teams ORs increases, so does the probability that the higher OR team will win regardless of tactics. It is advisable to develop all the tactics and not use the same one all the time. If a team always uses the same tactics, it gives a big advantage to anyone who plays them.
This may be a bit odd, but can players who are with dead team's contracts expire? I'd been watching an old Canadian NT player, because it said he'd be an RFA once his contract expires, until the season ended. Now it doesn't say anything anymore and his team no longer belongs to a division. Am I wasting my time?
you are indeed wasting your time. these players would destroy the whole market if they were allowed to go there.
I don't understand how they would destroy the market, but I did notice this also with an upcoming RFA from a dead Canadian team a few seasons ago.
Imagine if there were 100s of 2000+ OR players, good players, but not NT worthy, hitting the market every few days. It would drive down the value of players on active teams and upset the balance of progression.
Right.. but teams that have been inactive for a while usually get taken out of the league anyway, no? So it would only have an impact for one or two seasons.
Either way, this is how the game works and I'm fine with it
