Eh now. I did not bash Brodeur, I simply said that I rank Roy just a bit above him because he played for trap hockey Devils which you can't deny. If it was the contraty and Roy would have played for the Devils, Brodeur would have been ahead.
If you you would have read, I mentioned also pre-lockout stats since post-lockout traps are way harder to be successful. In fact so much that it took Boucher's tactic with the Lightning to make it effective again.

Wow. Is it just me or are the Kings on fire? I'm not watching the game right now. But 4-0 after 20min and already up 2-0? They're darn near ready to repeat what they did against Vancouver on STL! That's 2 of the top 3 teams in the league. WTF!?!?!
Seriously?
Your reason for ranking Brodeur above Roy is because he scored a couple of EN goals? Really? That's pretty harsh.
Besides, Roy only has one goal from a shot. Hextall is the only goalie to score on two shots.

I was going to respond to you in the other post... but I forgot what your post was about and it was a different page.
Anyways, I don't think that STL is one of the top 3 teams in the league.
They had next to no offense, and relied on pure defense.
Teams that are one-sided like that don't do well in the playoffs when so much more emphasis is put on studying the opposing team and strategies/game plans are designed solely to counter that.
The amount of work that teams do in researching their opponents is insane, especially in the playoffs. They'll watch hundreds of hours of footage to find weaknesses and if your team is only based on offense or defense, you won't make it far.
If your team can't score, you're really limited in how much you can change your game plan to counter the opponent.

lol, ya cause he scored goals and sister-in-laws, Brodeur's xfactor was his puckhandeling skills, no ones ever been better. Other than that there both the best of their time. And remember Jersey's d has not been good for years and he's still doing it better than a lot of starters.
Ummm, how are they both the best of their time when they played in the same time?
If I recall correctly, Roy beat out Brodeur in their head-to-head match in 00-01.
Also, look at the D that Roy had for most of his career (granted it was pretty good in 00-01 with Bourque, Blake and Foote).

Roy was not in his prime at the same time, his carear was ending and Brodeur was still playing 75 games and did play over 500 since Roy retired, with muiltiple 40 win seasons with out niedermayer, stevens, and rafalski type dmen.
The Kings are a better team than their standing. So much that I predicted a SC run this year for them in october... which nearly didn't happened. Quick will rapidly become one of the best new generation superstar goalie.
I agree. I wanted to avoid LA first round. SJ would have been a cake-walk compared to them.
I was ticked when he left. He is/was a solid Dman. Imagine him instead of our 5/6 Dmen? He's more steady than Ballard.
Bieksa/Hamhuis
Edler/Salo
Mitchell/(Ballard or Tanev or Rome or Alberts)

yah, Mitchell is a beauty. He can shutdown anyone in the league. Now that he's on the PP there's no stopping Big Willie. I suspect there were problems with him and the Canucks that we never heard about.
