Each level gets you a 2% reduction of your daily maintenance costs for both arena and facilities. It also reduces the amount of extra repairs/vandals you get from time to time.

The pay off doesn't come until you get past level 11 for facilities and the large seat type stands for your arena.

Look at your total daily maintenance costs and take 2% of that amount. Next look at the difference in daily cost between your current and next level of the MC. In your case between level 5 and 6, the difference would be 1500. If the 2% is greater than the 1500 an MC upgrade could make sense.

Something else to reconsider is arena custodians. They influence the efficiency of the maintenance center. So if you have 40% efficiency for your level 5, the reduction would be 14% rather than 10%. Now look at the salaries for those 2 (or 3) custodians and see if that is more than that extra 4% in savings. Given how high staff salaries are I doubt they are worth it at this stage.

Coaches are really expensive now. In beta version custodians became really expensive around the end of beta testing... or so I was told. How many seasons of beta were there?

You are not quite accurate here. You don't take 2% of your daily costs. It's 2% of total maintenance costs and daily costs are less, because of MC and custodians.
And 40% efficiency does not contribute 40% to MC but only half of that. So at MC level 5 and 40% efficiency the reduction is 12%.

And am I correct in saying Custodians became expensive on the market?

I played some in Beta and then came back towards the end of last season. Got a quick question... Are all teams automatically entered into National Cup and when is USA National Cup expected to start this season?

It varies by country. The more teams, the earlier it starts. Canada starts week 2 or 3. We have more teams then the USA so I'd say week 3 or 4 with the bulk of the big clubs starting mid-season.

I think all teams are entered, even the un-managed teams. You should be notified by team news when the draw is coming up.
