Aihe: 2016 NHL Playoff Predictions

the best part about this season was that many experts did not pick us to get to the playoffs and when we did they did not pick us to beat the kings. Once we defeated L.A. Some of them turned around but now we know who the real supporters are.

If the Pens win tonight. I'll be bragging too.

Well Matt you and me are going to be at war for the next 2-3 weeks

And, for the record, I only had one out of two of the finals teams picked.

And I'm still going to brag about it. It was the Sharks--that NO ONE expected to do this. Except me, that is. And Captain97G , of course.

right

This going to be a fun series because both teams can play some fun hockey. I just hope the sharks win be the ones to take the cup home.

I got the sharks one right but I way underestimated the Lightning.

Still this series should be fun. Can the sharks take the Pens speed will be big. Still the Pens haven't seen this good of a Defense yet.

West is way different than the East. Imagine if STL won how banged up theyd be coming through CHI DAL and SJ compared to either PIT or TB.

Here is a breakdown of the two teams in my eyes.

Goalies are a wash. Both are very good and both have the ability to steal a game so its not as if one is high and shoulders better above the other.

Defense on both teams have strengths and weakness. The Penguins defense is not that deep ever since Trevor Daly's injury and could be exploited the sharks. By that same token the sharks top 4 is really good but our bottom pair is nothing to brag about.

The forwards of both teams are strong suits as each team has some of the most dynamic players in the league in scoring. The Thornton Line, The Couture line, the third line. The Crosby line, the Malkin line, the HBK line. Two fourths lines that are hard to play vs.

Two coaches with interesting and different playing styles.

However there are a few things I need to point out. The sharks can play the physical game but its not our main style. In both the L.A. and Blues series we got outhit by those teams. The sharks play a fast, hard grind style in which we shut down the other teams weapons with backchecking, shot blocking, defensemen who pinch and have forwards who take their place, strong passes and playmaking, speed, and creative goal scorers. Special teams are going to matter. The penguins cannot take too many penalties or else the sharks PP is going to score a lot and a PP unit that has Crosby, Malkin and Kessel will get its chances and the sharks PK is only average. Overall this series is going to last 6 to 7 games. It will be a long hard fought series. It will also be a fun one.
