Wuh-ait... that last game was a friendly? I'm so confused! For some reason I guess I thought we were even later in the season than we actually are xD
Alright, will look again to see if we have ANY chance whatsoever to win a game in that prelim round. If we don't, I'm sticking with playing the young ones in favor of next season. Y'know, stick with the original plan. Qualifying was a nice bonus, though

Just to confirm with everyone: We could win 1, maybe 2 with a stretch, out of the 5 prelim games. Making top 4 is highly unlikely. If we did by playing the 19yos, then advancing to 1 single game of the elimination round wouldn't do much good to our team chemistry.
I am thus choosing to focus on what will likely be our line-up next season. So perhaps hold off on sending your kids to camp a bit so they can benefit from these next 5 days of boosted training on top of the training camps? You ARE allowed to have camp running into next season, without losing a training camp, btw. Just in case some of you weren't sure.

Please be aware that our 19 year olds that are not called up do not receive any training bonuses for the next 5 games and diminish our U21 and Senior Team competitiveness
Not a big deal for some of the lower quality 19 year olds but please reconsider for these 5
Bennett DelaRossa 19 5/6 1462
Jayson Hughes 19 5/6 1389
Alphonse Lo 19 4/6 1382

Hughes, Campeau and Tolson were already in camp, anyway, so the training boost at that point is moot. They,d only get a marginal amount of extra experience.
Every season so far, 3/4 of the NT team ends up being in camp during the WCs, so I figured that was going to happen anyway. Heck, even I forgot about it and started mine too early (hence the previous message telling others to maybe delay a bit xD)

Sakic's OR has barely moved since I let him go, so I'd rather give a chance to other guys that will be better by the end of the season. Hayes is behind both Carrier and Hughes and they're both 18. Our team last season was so bad though, that the line-up I played during the cup prelims was actually pretty much the line-up we have for this season.
I've had the busiest few weeks lately, so I haven't even kept up updating the scouted players I've got on my list. Will try to do that this morning and sort out positions and such. As usual, calling up my guys first is not favoritism, btw, it's just that they,re the ones I keep best track of! lol

Sounds good. I have all these guys scouted and can help out if you're missing anyone.
ps - I forgot to ask Canucks to run for U21 so it looks like we'll have a non-Canadian running the team. I recommend we both offer our services as assistants (you might be more qualified with your knowledge of the guys who just graduated)

There's a nice goalie prospect on the market, for those of you who would be interested
Graham Neuert
His OR is a bit low, but his qualities are pretty good (better than the player I let go of). I was going to bid on him if he wasn't a goalie, now I have to think about it haha. But it'd be nice if he stayed in canada!

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I've been extra busy, but still keeping an eye on the team. Tomorrow's our first qualifier match and I have set tactics appropriately, I promise! I am hoping to get a chance to update my spreadsheet and proceed to a few call-ups in favor of next season along the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!
I would like to apologize to all for this upcoming game: both our offensive pivot ended up injured (what even are the CHANCES of that happening?! FFS!). Thankfully, Turkey is also the weakest team in our group, so we may well pull this off anyway. I hope.
Pivot is our weakest position. I have actually not found a replacement for Cairns next season yet. (Yeah, it's bad.) Our remaining sub, Koby Blake, is 17 yo. Cairns will be pulling double duty for today, unless we are leading by 5+ goals. So, if you think you have a guy, send me his stats, pl0x?

Well, folks, we've made it to the preliminary round again, and I am happy to say that we actually stand a chance to make it in the top 4
As for what happens after that, all I've got is that we're all in this season. Not going to bring in younger guys to pre-emptly build some chemistry. Our next season looks a little bleak at the moment, so we'll do the best we can with what we've got while we have it
And I have found the replacement defensive pivot. In my own roster. I will be converting Bennie Gauvin since his aggressivity is a decent quality level. We don't have a lot defensive back prospects atm, either, but they're easier to find. More to come when I get a chance to update my spreadsheet appropriately.

Ahead of the next season, I have made a few call-ups so that you guys don't sell or dismiss these players, PLEASE, we will need them!
Other notable mention I had no space for, because 30 players, and for some reason I can't dismiss guys that have been on the team for more than 1 season right now (is it because it's game day? Or qualifiers are already on?)
Donald Drimmie (Teslas, OB)
Kris Dyson (Fat Guys, OB)
Garret McNally (Romanian Team, G)
Bryan Denis (Reflex, DW)
Carson Berry (Romanian (crappy) Team, DP) -- this is a weak position for us, as usual. The next best one is a guy I should've never sold. But I have a 16yo I could convert, I guess... I'm only getting W players these days xD
Kevon Jennings (Fat Guys, DB)
Craig MacLean (GBG, DB)
In other news, we're already qualified, so every other win will be extra candy/easier match ups in the elimination round. Running 2 great goalies is helping us tremendously, and I've started including Banks because Hughes' chemistry is above 90 and Carrier is playing well I'm taking a few risks by playing some younger players, but we may very well still win. The team turned out stronger than I expected, really!
And I'm starting to think about making the move of selling my older players (except St. Jean. Stop drooling!) so *someone* can actually focus on bringing up our youth. There are so little teams left in the running I would still place well in I.1 and I don't have a team that could win trophies right now anyway.
I'm thinking of maybe picking up the U21, too, except I can,t submit my candidature for more than 1 team? They're all players I'm familiar with, though, so it wouldn't be too hard. What do you guys think? Would one of you run and have me as assistant, and just set the friendlies and do the call-ups and I'll take care of everything else?

From the guide:
National team general manager can select up to 30 players for the national team during one season. Players selected for the team after the first week of the season, cannot be dismissed during that season. Players selected in the previous seasons or by a previous manager can be dismissed until day 14 of the season.
In order to have an all-Canadian management team, I might be talked into running for the U19 handball GM position.
Most of my efforts now are going into hockey and basketball. I could do for you the management things that only the general manager can do, under your direction, but you would have to do the rest. I could be your "executive data entry" GM. I would need a corner office with a view and near the coffee machine.
