I think it's completely reasonable to have a discussion here about which system is better to use.
Rather than dismissing bulls4ever and calling him names; offering no justification whatsoever to your statements and no answers to his questions; and finally, outright silencing him through a shameful abuse of moderator privileges... why not actually tell us what the pros and cons are of the other site?
Just a thought. That would be a productive thing to do.

Hey guys,
I think it is great that you took the initiative to make your own database! I don't see the issue with having two. The benefit of having your own is that you can tweak it as you see fit and do whatever you wish. The benefit of having a large outside database is that not everyone on PPM will be aware of your local one. Perhaps having two is best

To canucks357's point... I don't know who made the big database (that includes all the countries), but theoretically, it could be someone who is the national team manager of another country. Uploading all of the US players to a foreign database such as that could actually present a disadvantage (at least initially) in national team competitions.
Just a thought.
At this point, I'd probably use Bulls4ever's localized database for US players, and the other database as an easy way to list any foreigners I might have on my team.

Here's the thing.
In time USA players will be sold to foreign teams and those managers will likely upload to the large database. This works well except for the fact, as Canada has witnessed with hockey, sometimes the people running it stop supporting the page and the NT no longer has access to it (no password).
As a result, I'd recommend using a local and global database. I wouldn't worry too much about other NT managers seeing your players. Remember, anyone can scout anyone.

That is probably one of the most compelling reasons to use/support at least the local database.
You definitely make a very good argument as to why using two databases is definitely not a bad thing.
kudos, canucks357.

The issue is: that is a generic database that helps NT. My goal is to bring USA as a power in the PPM world. My database helps NT and regilar manager.
Managers will have tools to better select players. With data, I can study and also evently add feature suggesting best lineup, lineups for different situations, for different tactics.
None of this will be available on the global/generic database and that is the reason why mone is not global/generic.
A global/generic benefits those countries that do not have their own.

i actually have upload team for soccer and this is easy to add. when I built the soccer people were not interested on it as they often upload other teams players than theirs. I will add it.
The potential loss of access like what happened in hockey is problematic.
It's easy enough to track the players that are sold to foreign teams, though there needs to be a national team manager willing to look through the all of the league transfer histories for multiple seasons (this still wouldn't cover the rare player that is terminated but still one of the better players at a position due to a lack of depth). It still wouldn't be bad to at least have a more accessible database for foreign teams to upload players. They will upload players there if their own national team uses the database even if the USA decides to only use the local one.
With enough volunteers, it would be possible to scout other teams anyway.
The ability to customize a local database with tools is helpful.
I don't think it would be a bad thing to have access to a backup database though.
Hopefully the next national team manager would be willing to take advantage of both to the extent possible.

I need people to upload them to both databases.
yeesh. talk about bossy.
if you're going to be the national team manager, i don't think it's too much to ask for you to get your FREE scouting data from 2 sources.
the way I see it, it should be convenient to the uploader of the data. they're the ones scouting the players for you, and they're the ones doing you a favor by giving it to you.

I have uploaded to both.. The NT one needs to work on its tables. I prefer Bulls tables, sorting and searching to the one mentioned by Outsider. Bulls one thing that I do like on the NT one is you can select the number of rows. Perhaps you can look into adding that as well.
