There are people who believe the 2 secondaries are not equal. I used to be in that camp (hence the 4-3-2 used in that article) but have since decided that the secondaries are (for the most part) equal.
That said, depending on how you play the game, you might prefer to adjust your training ratios.

Yes, 4-3-2 means the tertiary stat is not as important. There is lots of debate over the wording/accuracy of the help in this area.
Its also has a lot to do with personal preference. For myself, I'm finding that different ratios are better for each player depending on role.

Not to mention how you deal with attributes for positions that don't call for them. How much pass, shoot, for a winger? How much defense and shoot for a center? Or offense and shoot for a defender? Or better yet ask how can I create an offensive defensmen, grinder, power forward...
I have had decent luck with wingers who have low Agg, but It I've not got much out of a Center with low Tec.
I also consider Tec a holy stat that everyone has to train, but that's just me.

Of course. Even 4th line fighters need good technique to play their roles on the team.
I wish there was a way to match up your "fighters" against a team with high tech and no agg and "cancel" them out. In essence what we have now is the want to make 4 lines that are carbon copies - that would be your best case scenario.
You can choose how to set those individual lines per passing / shooting / tech / agg per line but there's really no building a line for a set purpose. I think the addition of a speed attribute would be nice as well, a line with high speed and agg would be a sight to see hehe.

oooo!!!! that would make an interesting game. suggest it! suggest it! (and i won't hold my breath waiting for it)
I do, but it's largely out of necessity as they both have similar Qs and both are low.
i do too. mostly because i have noticed their GAA goes down when they aren't. it may just be my goalies...but... i've also noticed i need to have my goalies at 100-50-50 for attys. anyone else work that differently?
Since I'm of the belief the guide states the priority of secondary atty I keep tech higher than passing.
