Rangers are on a 4 game win streak. Gabs is leading the league in goals. Times are good, but we'll see how long it lasts. I hope it takes us back into the PO picture.
Dude, I went, and it was UN-believable. The crowd was so pumped ... the conditions were great (considering it almost rained, and Boston is generally stupid-cold this time of year).
I don't know if they have it at Red Sox games or not, but there was a vendor selling New England Clam Chowder, which I thought was hysterical.
Great people, great city, great atmosphere ... unbelievable. I'll never forget it.

I want to believe you.
In France, with ESPN America, I saw the match live. I am not a fan of Boston or Philadelphia, but I confess that I saw the match with pleasure. The atmosphere seemed great.

I watched the game too. Now I'm thinking, we must have a Winter Classic match at night. I liked the shadows. It added another dimension to the game, I guess.
You can't have night matches in Canada at night because it would be way too cold. But if we do one here, in NYC next year, I think it should be scheduled at like 6pm.

good question. stars have been swapping backup goalies around for a while...Turco has been seriously under preforming since his first couple seasons--even if you factor in how bad the team has played in front of him...but...is Lehtonen good enough for the #1 slot? personally, i don't think so.
Yep, he's good enough. Injuries have been an issue which could be a concern, but look at Lehtonens numbers... they're actually pretty damn good, and they were on a team with bad defense. The Stars on a bad day have better defense than the Thrashers did, so he should see less shots on goal for a start.
Personally, i'm quite ok with this trade. Turco has moments where he's absolutely phenominal.. one of the best in the game, but he's inconsistent at best.
Rumours have the Stars trading Turcs to the Flyers for either Timonen or Coburn and a draft pick.

I suggest Stars get a decent back-up to fill the void for the 60% of games that Lehtonen will be out with injuries. I really like this kid but I dont remember when was the last time he was healthy.
their have been rumors for a while that turco would be moved and Joe made ir clear that they now had 3 goalies and that they would have to "do something about that."
I think Turco is the easier piece to move. Chicago, maybe Washington are looking for goalie help. Auld has been solid for the stars but hasn't won a cup like Turco has.

i responded without refreshing so i had only seen coach2live's response.
I hadn't heard the philly rumor but that makes sense as well. With all they gave up for Pronger its Cup or bust for them this season.

Given the choice of letting Turco walk for nothing, resigning him for 2 years when there has been no signs of things getting better, or taking a chance on Lehtonen? I'd take Lehtonen.
Now we bring in a young goalie from within system (We have a few) and build them up so they are ready to step in when Lehtonen falls apart. While Vishnesvky is a good defense prospect, the Stars are OK at young d-men, with Grossman, Fistric, Niskanen, and some of the guys on the farm outside of Vish.
