they should watch the world baseball classic
1) The bulk of users are European, not American.
2) Not everything is free. PPM is one of the rare games where you can play unrestricted for free. You like it? Support the game, you'll get more than just logos.

for the 1st time ever a forum in other game made by another user in the us (or maybe around the world) has been made.By me. (put's on swag glasses)
You know... speaking of supporting the game, I feel like PPM should stop giving away their money.
I remember 2-3 years ago when i first started playing these sports, that it was rare if / when there were "deals" on the pro pack. If and when there WERE "deals," they were usually no more than "30% more credits with purchase" types of deals.
Now it seems like you can get "50% more" deals every week. They make them "limited offers," but it's sort of a joke, considering we've now had 2 in the past month. It's not hard to just wait for the next "special."
Having sales isn't a bad thing if it attracts more users and gets more people to spend money on the paid product, but it seems as though PPM has found themselves in a cycle of NEEDING to have sales because it's the only way they can sell their product.
To me that means they need to reduce the standard prices. If you always need to have sales to get people to spend money, then it's a sign that you're charging too much to start with.
And they really are shooting themselves in the foot... because active managers who DO pay aren't stupid.
For instance... during christmas when they had the gingerbread, one of the prizes was "40% more credits when you purchase." That ran concurrently with one of ppm's "50% more credit sales." The overlap was small (the window was only about 24-36 hours and you had to go balls to the wall to reach that gingerbread in time before the other sale ended), but I ended up with +90% credits when I made my purchase.
I got 1350 credits FOR FREE with my purchase (I did the most expensive option). That amount of credits would've normally costed ~$120 U.S. So basically, I could run the pro-pack on all sports for nearly the next 2 years. If I'm more stingy and only spend on some of the sports, it'll last even longer.
They've essentially lost me as an income source.
No wonder they stopped creating new content for these games... their financial mechanism is atrocious.

Wow... total grave-digging. This was one of the most recent topics in the general forum so I figured it was relatively recent...
But these posts were made almost 2 years ago...? jeeeeeeze.
There's PPM's other problem. How can any online competitive game survive with such an anemic community...

It's sad the forums have gone so silent in recent years. I wished the mods had been more relaxed in the past. They ruined every bit of discussion.
I think it's been about a year or so that the PPM Thread was removed from the top list of threads at HF Board's General Fantasy Talk. That's the moment you realize a game becomes irrelevant. Ironically PPM's predecessor is still up there, even rolling out some new features recently.:p
