Maybe you didn't understand right - I am saying that this shows weakens in game calculations.

You would probably easily won if you played 3-4-3 or something more offensive but thats not the question - question is how to make engine sense whats going on on the field.

Let me put this way - in your schoolyard (and anywhere in the world) if your opponent plays in his own 16 yard - neutrally your players going up and push - practically your formation becoming 2-4-4 or something like that.

And in your game that wasn't the case - and that's the problem for PPM to think about.

If you do want something that realistic I guess you have to start play football manager.

Well - I am probably not using adequate expression when I am saying "to sense" - but I like this game and I think with some changes it could be quite good.

Off course it demands determination, desire, open mind and sincerity from developers - unfortunately I can't figure what is PPM strategy - but I keep hoping

No really - base game algorithm could be better - more complex and better planned.

Guys with all due respect Im almost rolling in laughter hearing people justify how 6 men in the defensive center zone has anything to do with real football. Some of us have actually been on a real pitch and know that in a 4-4-2, the midfielders on my team would have a field day in this game picking this bush league defense apart. In a real match the shots would be 20 not 0. With so many men in the box, the defending team team would end up with endless red cards and penalties.

Finally, It sad that almost everyone here want this to a video game and not soccer. Everyone here should know that no professional team goes on the pitch playing like Peruzzi. I came here to play football not an algorithmic math game.

Like chealsea - barcelona for like 2 seasons ago in CL? Barca dominated the whole game, chelsea just played all on defensive but barca had 0 shots... until 93rd min when inieste scored 1-0 and they advanced..

As I mentioned before, the 6 players are not in the box. That's just where they have the most influence. The engine doesn't just keep them standing in one place.

First of Chelsea played a very defensive game but never came anywhere close to using 6 central defenders. 6 central defenders. In fact if I remember correctly, Chelsea used the very defensive 4-1-4-1 a few times that season. This is about as extreme as you will see in the premiere leagues.

Secondly, those that dont really understand real football, what that call "hurry up" here for Newbs is really known as the press. In the case some of the midfielders end up in forward positions and some of the defenders push up into the midfield positions.

Its really not hard at all to see how such an aggressive press would push a pansy formation like this with their backs to the goal. The defenders and midfielders on my team would have field day passing and breaking up the defense. This not to mention 6 opposition defenders crowded and confused in front of an obviously screened goalie.

Finally the one part I do get from peoples arguments here is my 1 goal against. Maybe one of his defensive midfileders did mange to break free a bit and one of my guys tackled him badly for a free kick. A lucky free kick goal by a mediocre striker against a superior goalie.. A long shot scenerio, but I get it. What I dont get is what happened to the shell shocking amount of on goal shots that should happened by playing a group of pansies cowering in front of the goal like this.

Perhaps it was 4-1-4-1 on paper, but on the field no. (Also i must correct myself, iniesta made the 1-1 goal that made them advance)

Anyway, as in real life positions are not static, real often use 451 formation but against good teams (barca) it tends to be very defensive and against bad teams very offensive.

I assure it was a regular 4-1-4-1 with 2 central defenders. No professional coach is going to send their team on the field with some sort of decent midfield and at least one striker. It suicide. The opposition defense and midfield move up as no one is around to threaten them. The game turns into a shooting gallery.

In reality, my against Peruzzi if it was a real football game would have been an absolute blow out. Almost all my men would be up as there would be very little fear of a counter. 6 central defenders (no backs) and 4 defensive midfielders. This is a pathetic joke and is not worthy of being called a soccer formation.

Finally, anyone here who wants to sight examples of professionals playing like Peruzzi did in my game would advised not to. What Peruzzi did was turn soccer into a video game. I honestly think the developers realize this. My rant has been very loud. (This will be my last message on this subject) However this bush league tactic may cost me the Division 1 championship of Asia. Im a bit pissed but I can take this. I just dont want to see other top clubs lose their league title to cheap tactics like this again.

I agree with you. It is something that we can work on in the next set of improvements.

you can ask, but I'm not going to tell you how. I can tell you that when we're done, it will be better.
