I'd like a option which switches D pairings and forward lines seperately.
I'd also like there to be (in the far future) an affiliate system, which prospects and unused players can join. The teams could be auto-managed (no one owns them) and players could be given ice time based on performance (eg 2nd liner scored 3 points in 3 games, promotion to 1st line). It could be like a second league which managers have no control over, except if their players are in or not in it. The advantage of this league could be monitor players and see developing "hot-streaks" for call ups, and provide younger/unused players with experience.

Thats what people do for friendlies. Play their prospects in them.

Yes but you can't see, consistantly how well your players will perform (for hot streaks). Also I have players I don't want to use in friendly games, because I want my main roster (which includes my depth players 24-30 total players) to develope chemistry instead of players I don't plan to use for another season or two.

You could go either way... I tend to do my alternates in friendlies to build up their chemistry and Experience so that when they do get subbed into games due to injuries or energy loss, they're already up on their chem and the team isn't affected as much.

It was put far on the back burner. Actually it could have been scrapped all together. There was to many chances of cheating to go on with it.

i think loaning player might work.. like if i have prospects that can't crack my lineup, but i want them to get experience, he can go to a lesser team for some "agreement" and then get ice team. i benefit because he plays, and they benefit because they get a better player. now the agreement has to be certain ways so that cheating can't occur.. which might be impossible actually :S

How about remainder of season loan terms based on OR? Or by performance?

even if the market is, the lender might want to keep the player. i think loaning until remainder of the season could work in terms of terms (ahaha..). i don't think one team paying another team should be allowed though as it can promote cheating, hey? but then this could mean lower league teams with "connections" to higher league teams will be able to dominate their league, we don't want that.. ahh

Well this is what I suggested if you read my post carefully, instead of a lesser team though, a neutral AI team that assigns lines based on players performance. No chance of cheating then.

I considered training with this "alternate AI league" as well. Players would recieve a training penalty based on your "higher league" facilities, because the affiliate's facilities would clearly be inferior (10%?). Prospects (under 19) would gain bonus experience I think though (12%). This would be because it is a weaker league and thus better for their development. The 12% bonus may seem much, but as prospects they are likely to be stuck on 3rd and 4th lines, if there are unused older players in the league as well.

I was referring to loaning players between active human managers. I don't care for the idea of having an "alternate AI league" as you put it.

If you want to get your prospects experience, play them in friendlies.

Or, alternatively, it might be a cool feature to be able to create a farm team.

For example, a manager could pay a flat rate fee ($100,000,000?) to create a new team in the league below your own. That team would have a shared source of players (the main team's SA) and management (i.e. you, the general manager) but would be otherwise independent.

Players could be freely transferred between teams (within whatever limitations). But the team would have its own money, its own arena, its own facilities, its own staff, and its own sponsors.

Thoughts on that?

I don't like the idea of a player playing for another team (possibly in another country) while also gaining the benefit of your facilities. It seems like a mechanism to avoid paying the 40+ player tax while gaining the simultaneous benefits of loan fees and continued player development.
