I also got a guy that looks like a good goalie but is already 5/6. I just don't want to spend resources on training a guy who will likely never get above 2400.
5/6 player means I won't be so sad when he gets offered a boatload of money as a RFA and I'll just let him go at that time (or he WON'T be offered boatloads of money and I won't have to go bankrupt trying to stay afloat. Either way, works for me!)
Being 5/6, I'd train him as a goalie. This involves only 3 attributes as compared to 4 for any other position. This should somewhat mitigate the 5/6 longevity. Standard 2-1-1 training will mean he trains out at 88% overall!!
These three players will all rank out the same when experience is considered:
Player 1.....2400 OR.....160 EXP
Player 2.....2600 OR.....100 EXP
Player 3.....2800 OR..... 48 EXP
Player 1.....2400 OR.....160 EXP
Player 2.....2600 OR.....100 EXP
Player 3.....2800 OR..... 48 EXP

"For those of you who do not want to read on further, let me summarize my findings now. Chemistry adds a 25% bonus and experience adds a 20% bonus. These bonuses are added to the energy-modified player build. For those of you who want to see the numbers and equations on how this works to test it on your own, read on."
I have assumed 100% chemistry, and 100% energy in my example.

My power play is 1 for 21 this season. That and my PK being 62% are killing what should be easy games. Today my goalie let in 3 goals on 14 shots, 2 PP goals.
I didn’t change anything from last season for the PP and PK. Anyone have any ideas what’s causing this?

I'd say small sample size. As we all know, when goalies let in quick goals, they tend to suck for the rest of the game. The opposite is true when a gk manages to stick through a barrage of shot after 1 period, he tends to be unbeatable or almost.
Seems like you got unlucky twice.

Good points. Hopefully my luck luck improves!
Man I can’t buy a win. Rough start to the season. My guys can’t score and my goalies suck!
Do you think you can keep that up until Dec 20th? I may be able to get like, my first win of the season against you, then? XD
I mean, I'm no contender but so far I've lost 2 games by a landslide, when I should've had a shot to win. The power discrepancy between div I and II is just mindboggling....

I’m hoping my team decides they like to score again! Yeah, there’s usually some games each season that are complete blowouts when team strength isn’t that far apart.
Ok, so the sample size is growing, and my team still does nothing on the power play, and the penalty kill sucks. I’ve tried changing lines up, and nothing. Cost me the game today as my opponent had 2 pp goals on 4 power plays, and I had 0 on 3. My power play is 11% on the season, and penalty kill is 78%.
I’ve literally never had anything like this happen. I can’t think of what else to try. 7 power play goals on 59 power plays. Wtf. This is really hurting my season now. Games where I am doubling or tripling my opponent in shots are one goal games or go to OT.

Oof, I mean, you had a good start to that game, but it looks like the game importance really nailed you on that one.
In fact, it seems like the importance effect has been more pronounced this season compared to what I've seen in the past. Maybe it's just me, tho.
