They did pick one and went with it. For years. But people have forever been crying for a draft. Now they're giving us both.

It also gives you a chance to draft for a position of need. That's another complaint. So they're also killing two birds with one stone.

Plus it solves the problem of pulling good players on the last pull. Those draftees won't be pulled until the new season starts. Three birds!

And it could be fun

I just think it should be one or the other. Making it a hybrid seems like a bit of a clusterF. But whatever... I'll play by the rules. I'd be unhappy if I was one of the worst teams in my league tho.

Honestly, I wish I could tell my academy what kind of players I need most... let them develop to my need, rather than being "random" as it is now.

I mean we'll find out next weekend, but I feel that the draft will produce just as good as result the SA we currently do will. So maybe 1 player a season if lucky. I hope I'm wrong because I'd love to see younger USA players with talent growing. Maybe then (and big maybe) [hockey_team=73616]will finally have some youth on that team! ha ha ha

Agreed, if they went through something like here's 10 players w/ their potential and positions, now pick 1-2 (depending on your SA level) I think it would solve both problems. I'm just having flashbacks to Gridiron with this draft and having to be here at x time for it.

It's been said before, but I really, REALLY wish we had something more to go off of than CL. I guess I'll just scout my positions of need?

You almost had me this round, we would have killed our energy.

The pep talk worked today. Put down all the MacGyver dvd's in a big pile in the middle of the room and said if you do not beat Americans today you will not be able to watch MacGyver ever again. Had the bin rolled out to burn all the Dvd's. The assistant coach added that the bus for the buffet was leaving 1PM sharp so no overtime.

Then the opening ceremony was a memorial for the Ultimate Warrior. A tearful moment which inspired the team especially when we heard the words "The family that I live for only breathes the air that smells of combat. With or without the face-paint I am the Ultimate Warrioooorrr!!!"
