That was one hell of a strategy change at the half though. holy cow.

it's a shame that you didn't pull it out after making that half-time switch.

I am rather glad. I was going to do low on the second half too... But figured you would go H/H and I was not going to play the tactics game with you. Figure beat you first half and then hold on as the 2 points were worth the VH half.

man... i cringe when teams reduce intensity at half time. that takes steel balls (especially with teams as close as many of them still are).

I got burned a couple of times before when I reduced intensity at half-time. I would be leading by more than 6, and then would lose because I reduced intensity while the other team switched to VH.

There's few worse feelings than having your team essentially "give up" on winning like that.

I'd infinitely rather lose by 1 point after going Low-Normal or Normal-High than lose by 1 point after going Normal-Low or High-Normal. But maybe that's just a personal preference.

To be fair, 9 is generally a safe lead. If they had gained a 10 goal lead, I would have switched to my B lineup of 15 year old projects.

That is a disappointing way to lose though, by mistakenly reducing intensity.

This is especially disappointing since I could have gained on Team USA, and I also lost ground on the Microwave Repairmen. This was one of the winnable games against playoff teams that I needed to win. I will have 2 more this week against the Covington Rowdies and Asshai Shadow Babies. It's great that I've been beating all of the teams close to relegation recently and nearly beating the rest, but it will not be enough.

As for the change of tactics, I figured that if one strategy doesn't work, a completely different one might. Maybe I should just stick with fast breaks since my team is currently well suited to them. Earlier in the season, I switched in games that were close (tied or within a few goals), often causing me too lose, but I think I've fixed that problem now.

If it makes you feel better, my players will still be in camp when we play each other.

2nd and 3rd teams are in camp while i maintain 8 points difference. While I will have a tough schedule coming up having them in camp could help me.

the key is to beat 9 , 10 , 11th and make sure I win almost as many games as you folks. I start camp today so the starters get a good rest for a week. I needed the 2 points today or life would have became even more difficult. Still have 2 games against the cajuns as well. Which helps. Those 4 points will help tons down the last stretch as I squeek into the playoffs.

I think I might regret asking this, but what youth training efficiencies do other teams have at this point? My youth training efficiency is currently at 35%.

Heh silly me had them training at 1:1 thinking it was 4:1... so I am at 28% for both. This is being corrected now.

Also... it's been a popular week for training camps.

Its good to open camp right now and put extra pressure on the 1st place, since they will definitely not open a cam during season, because they are worried to lose the 1st spot. Also i played against a dead team, so it was a good timing. Now just 2 more games.

With bulls4ever's lead, I have to think that he could find somewhere in the schedule to run a camp.

For instance, he plays the Cajuns and Hanover Fisters in back-to-back games at the end of this month. If he ran a camp that week, he could possibly get by with only losing 2 games during camp.

And look at things realistically. he's 4 games ahead of second place (and with goal differential, even if he gave up those 8 points, he'd still be in 1st place). So basically, he'd have to lose a minimum of 4.5 out of 17 games, AND you'd have to go UNDEFEATED in order to knock him down the standings. Given that you've lost 3 games in the last 10, I don't think you'll win 17 in a row... and considering that bulls has only lost 3 times in 35 games, I find it rather unlikely that he'll all of a sudden start losing at more than twice the rate.

The way I see it... if any team can afford to take time off for a training camp in division 1, it's Inter Melon. He's the only team that could literally lose every game while in camp and still be in the same spot in the standings.

Anyways... that's just an opinion from where I sit. I read your post and I couldn't help but think that it's just plain wrong.
