Vlady is on vacation since Friday, so I will try to answer your questions as much as I can, but some of these conversations that were started with him, like yours, will have to wait until he is back (next Monday).
Today there was a bug concerning substitutions in my league match:
soccer.powerplaymanager.c...
After the sent-off of my LM, another LM was substituted for a CD. However, contrary to the setup he remained there.
If you can look into my account, Substitution 20 of the default line-up is the one that was triggered. I'll post it in any case:
Yazgan <=> Witting - player substitution
Haas - positional change (RD)
Zottl - positional change (CD)
Soine - positional change (LD)
Yazgan - positional change (LM)
Binder - positional change (CDM)
The Yazgan position change was not happening. If you wonder that the Sub and the position change are separated, this is due to another bug I encountered recently which I could not post yet, since it is too lengthy to explain (Hope I find the time soon.). In any case, having sub and position change separated has worked earlier. So why not here?

So now that I'm at it, I reproduced the other bug. I set some substitutions in my line-up C. I'm sure the dev guys can see them, right?
Sub1: Regular send-off sub for a LM, all fine.
Sub2: Send-off sub for a LM, accompanying Sub1, in case the CM player Kranz has been substituted earlier for the CD Nohl. So a double exchange is set. (Which actually works, in case you wonder.)
Sub3: Here now is the bug. If I set a sub in case of a RM send-off with the same players, the direct position change is not shown anymore.
Only: Charlie Donius <=> Johann Kranz - player substitution
Not: Charlie Donius <=> Johann Kranz - player substitution
Charlie Donius - positional change (LM)
Yet when you click 'Edit' you can still see the position change line.
Sub4: The position change is shown again when I put another position change in between. (That is the reason for the setting that led to the problems mentioned in my previous post.)
Sub5: The bug even persists when I substitute another player (CF Zilgalvis) for CM Kranz.
Sub6: Everything is fine if I set a send-off sub with two different players.
Sub7: Just the copy of Sub1, yet now the position change is missing here too.
I conclude that there are some weird interactions between different Substitutions, which I never encountered before.
So I hope you see the point and have a look into it. Let me mention that I have been working like this for a long time now, with no problems and always to good effect. Until recently. So it could well be a side product of the minor changes with Sub system you announced some weeks ago.

I too had an issue with subs in my soccer game.
My Right winger was sold before kick off an instead of the substitute RW coming in, a different player played, and my team reverted to a standard 4-4-2 which basically resulted in me losing my game.

if you haven't set line-up correctly the engine sets it up on his own with standard tactics and a random player...it woul be your tactics and your substitute if he couldn't play because of a red card of injury...so the difference is if you don't have a player in the line-up in the first 11 set or if it is set up but he can't play because of something...
Yes, I know all of that, but I had a substitute set to play RW.
My subs ALWAYS include GK, FB, D, LW, RW, CM & STR.
The RW in question has no yellow cards or red cards, or suspensions.
There may be an obvious answer to this that I'm missing, but it is none of the above.

I didn't mean on subs you have set. I am talking about having 11 players in the set up on the field...if you have on the field a player with red card it will be subbed with a palyer that has his position set in the substituions...but if you have 10 players set on the field, then the subb you set won't apply, the engine will use a random player on that position...
So, no comment on this or my previous post? I mean, this is really a bug.
I'll tell Ludisplitjo to take a look at it...
