Canadian Handball NT: A Look at Some Early GM Candidates

Canadian Handball NT: A Look at Some Early GM Candidates

An intense battle is brewing in PPM Canada, and it's not being waged on the ice, pitch, or court, but at the ballot box in the first ever elections for handball national team manager.  So far we have 4 candidates duking it out to become the Sir John A. Macdonald of Canadian handball: Luksol from the Czech Republic,Skosme from Slovenia,Tian76 from Sweden, and to this date, the lone Canadian entrant, Godot.

Luksol, a relative newcomer, is the youngest entrant at 16 years old.  He is also running for U18 NT Manager for France in hockey, but is seen as a bit of a longshot out of the gates in his bid for the Canadian job. He's showing a lot of promise in all sports since joining and could have an outside chance.

Skosme has been registered on PPM since 2007. Although he's off to a good start in handball, he didn't like PPM hockey, and admits to playing soccer on a competitor's website in his application *shudders*. I suspect the admission of not liking hockey won't go over well with Canadian voters, but best of luck to him.

Tian76 has an impressive resume.  He has won multiple championships in soccer including two Cup Winners Cup championships in seasons 8 and 10, and National Cup Champion for Sweden in season 7. Tian76,  has some experience under his belt from his time managing the Swedish NT. He is off to an excellent start in handball, leading Sweden's top division.  While being a Swedish national (c'mon, who doesn't love the Swedes!?), the man loves Canada and the Habs, and should be considered a reliable, viable candidate.

Godot may be Canada's lone candidate, but that's not the only reason one might vote for him.  After joining in April this year, Godot made massive strides in hockey under the tutelage of PPM Canada fixture Canucks357.  When handball started, he ran with it, rocketing up the standings and taking the title of Canada's National Cup Champion. He is vowing to bring a statistical approach to the national team, and with Canucks357 as his running mate that will be accomplished with ease. He's shown an early grasp for the game and warrants serious consideration for the NT job.

At the time of publication of this article, there seem to be two front-runners emerging, PPM veteran Tian76 and Canada's rising star Godot.  Both seem to be excelling in handball and either one would be an excellent choice.  If anyone is wondering which way I'll be voting, call it nationalistic pride, but I think I'll be going with the Canadian.  Tian76 is a top manager, a great guy,  and well deserving of all the success he has had, but I'm going to give the Canuck a chance, his performance thus far proves he deserves one.
