I actually did invite someone about a month before this, and he joined soccer, and has stayed thus far! He actually has a better team than I do at present.
Does playing friendly games with low game importance impact attendance at future competitive home games? Also, does it matter if it is a home or road friendly game?
No impact on attendance. I always play friendlies on very low.
I remember seeing something about this in the guide a while back. This seems to be what it has to say:
"If you play a league game (or part of it) on very low or low game importance and you don't win, the fans will remember that your team's effort was weak and they might not be willing to attend your next home league game. The attendance drop will be bigger if you play on very low and smaller if you play on low importance. Also the portion of the game that you play on low or very low will be taken into account. If you win, the importance that you used will have no effect on the attendance of the following game. Also, if your team is much weaker than the opponent, your fans will forgive you even if you play on very low and lose."

How do other people weigh the rating (A, B, C) vs the career longevity (5/6 vs 6/6) of scouted draft picks? Are most of the opinion that the shorter career longevity of someone who starts at 5 makes them not worthwhile to draft?
That's how I feel. I don't scout the 5/6 ones.
Does this mean you would not scout a 5/6 500 universal winger/ defenseman/goalie who would train at 90%?
I would yes. My answer was only referring to draft picks.
For hockey I don't generally see much worth in scouting 5/6 players in general (for the draft) since I usually barely have time to scout all the 6/6 anyway. There are so many players that the higher CL will more than likely be more worthwhile to the national teams, and your team.
But then again, I've had to start over because I had so many good older players with good logevity, it drove me to near bankruptcy and almost quit the game. Stupid FAs...
Now, if it was handball, it'd be a different story. The team and player pool is so thin I think even a 4/6 starting CL )not a thing, thankfully) would be worth it if he had an A rating. XD
