Told some friends about it. Not sure if they will join?

So many times we find ourselves talking about (actually complaining-myself included) about the lack of shear numbers to choose from when it comes to quality USA players. Well after reloading on the Pro-Pack, I've been digging around and saw this. Kinda depressing, but it explains a lot, numbers simply don't lie. The only way to curb this is to find a way to ENCOURAGE our new managers, and God knows I've reached out to many, and roughly 75% never respond. I attribute this to the ole USA attitude in general, we want instant gratification, and this game certainly doesn't provide any of that.I have a feeling that most of the USA managers that stick around likely are older, have baggage that keeps them in check (at home) and they utilize this game to account for time spent aside from taking out the garbage, honey-do-lists, painting the bathroom to match the wifes new throw rug, etc etc...The numbers im about to list clearly show just how desperate we are, this also includes Canada, sry Canucks357..you're in this boat too. IF we could manage to increase the percentage of new managers by just 10%, in a few seasons we'd be in a much better position. no? Soo, the question begs to ask...HOW DO WE DO THAT? The only thing i have come up with is the have volunteer "ambassadors" for each DIV.III team. But who has the time for that?

Whats in the water in the Czech Republic? They had 284 NEW managers join in one day. The USA...4. lol. And we likely had 2-3 times that quit in the same day.

And ive no idea why each countries name is listed twice. wasn't like that went i copied it in. weird.

I had posted a very similar list a few weeks back in another forum.

i worked hard for a long time to motivate and guide new players. very few will stick in.

For handball i "introduced" a no more than 2 players per team (exception only if team has a 3rd too great player) to motivate managers to continue playing. not sure if that works but it is a motivation.

but fact is that at the end with few exception managers (even those who started on season 1) dont make players that can make simply because they dont build facilities good enough or dont train then correctly.

for months i was helping new managers on how to properly train and build facilities.

some managers just wont help thinking that keeping their "secret" will put them in advantage. fact is that once new managers struggle not figuring ut things they quit and it end up hurting pretty much everybody.

USA wont be a power not until we have more active managers.

A lot of you guys are most helpful, but new managers have to be willing to put in the time. I think the game is too slow for some people. In this tmz/twitter/youtube world, alot of people want things done at the click of a button. They do not have the patience to wait for players to mature, or buildings/stands to upgrade. They rather pay some real life money and get it done instantly like some other games do.

the game is very slow. painfully slow. basketball pace is much better but still slow.

biggest issue imo is that there is nothing that motivate constant social involvement. so forums are pretty dead.

I don't think this list accounts for managers that quit. These numbers slowly improve over time, but the number of teams in hockey at least tends to stay fixed, maybe even decreasing over time.

The sad thing is that the United States has actually improved its ranking on this list quite a bit over time.

Part of the problem is advertising. I only found the game by chance through a google search. With proper advertising, even with the Skeptimist's explanation for the low numbers in the United States, keeping in mind the budget and other constraints that might limit the potential for advertising, there should still be a lot of potential for growth for PPM in the U.S. market in particular (though other countries outside of Europe also probably have some growth potential). The big surprise is Brazil's ranking.

Looking at the various countries, there are only about 9 countries with IV divisions (excluding a handful with 3 divisions and 1-2 division IV leagues): sweden, slovenia, germany, latvia, poland, slovakia, czech, france, and finland.

Many of these teams have solid top division teams (at least for U18), though even Sweden, Germany, Slovenia, and France have played in division I recently. Finland only has 7 division IV leagues. France is usually a top division team, though France is also one of the smaller countries on this list.

The United States actually had players that were competitive in ability with Poland/Serbia/Croatia last season, which bodes well for the future if the United States can continue producing at a similar level.

Basically, to be competitive against Slovakia and the Czech Republic, the United States needs to advertise to fantasy sports players, but by simply retaining and properly developing the teams that are already in the United States, the United States could become pretty competitive and beat the teams with elite depth on the random factor once in a while.

A country like Serbia has in the past been one of the better teams, but they are actually a somewhat smaller country with more or less similar numbers of good facilities at this point. A lot of the teams with good facilities in division II of the United States are relatively newer teams that are just now starting to produce national team caliber prospects at higher rates that train with national team caliber facilities. Even with the loss of teams like the Irresistible Force, High Hitterz, STL Saints, and Wookies, the future looks promising.

Good points. As far as the advertising goes, I actually found this site by mistake, and it wasn't on the first page of Google. If PPM did a little better at indexing on Google along with Better meta tags, sitemap. Google Adwords keyword planner is a useful tool to increase views. Lots of ways to get closer to the front page of the internet.

I have always felt like this site was missing something, aside from the norm. We know this takes a long time to build ones team, but in the meantime, while were sitting around, just watching numbers grow...theres nothing else to do to keep ones attention. I guess I feel like there should be something incorporated, another factor of play that is immediate, something that can be changed on a need to need basis, but has impact on the game. what that is,I don't know. A better incentive for the new guys to stick around. The 11 day waiting period alone likely wipes out 50% of those that sign up. I never really understood the waiting period, I mean how much harm can one manager do in Div.III on his first day? 11 days is almost half a month....theres a lot of things in life i wouldn't wait 11 days for. I think that in of itself is likely the single biggest reason people leave, or they simply forget about it and dont come back.

I think it's so people can't just start teams, place good players on the market, and then start another team.
Also potentially could be so a team expecting to play a dead team, that receives a manager, doesn't have to worry about the team suddenly getting a jump in overall. Which could be used to mess with someone's record come the end of the season in a lower division

I agree with all of you. We need more USA players. I will send a invitation to every one on my email list which is...... a lot of people. I should at least get a few of them. Also does any one know where I could get a leadership position for the USA.I spent a lot of time on the game. Usually at least 1-5 hours a day? Would LOVE to help team USA!!
