yeah. I was looking at that too. There's a lot of guys that I can sub without really losing tons of efficacy.

We'll play it by ear. capsaicin sent me some pretty decent ideas via pm too. so we'll see what I decide on. like i say before though, it's really nice having the options lol.

all prior years, I've been in the "must win" situation at this point.

you will have to shoot me those ideas as well.

I don't know if you noticed yet but I'll probably be able to pump out some decent talent for USA in a few seasons again.

Hey welcome back. Definitely get working on those facilities, and if you manage to draft a guy with very high AQ (even if he's low on the OR scale) and are interested in selling him, lemme know.

I'm always in the market for 15 year olds with a future. I've had to resort to buying foreign guys because the market for US players has been pretty nonexistant.

Well that was an utter disaster. I was in the middle of changing the lineup when I got locked out. I hadn't done anything to the tactics yet, so basically we played with a random lineup and played on VH (which is where we were last week).

Epic Fail. God dammit. Such a waste blowing that much energy when we had no chance of winning (due to the random lineup).

Sorry about that. Hopefully at least some starters rested. At least it won't affect advancing to the next round.

I had even worse luck with my basketball sponsors. I looked at sponsors and had a 4-5 star regular general sponsor and a good 3-4 star media sponsor. The day changed before I got around to accepting. I still ended up with a 5 star general sponsor, but it is a weaker league ranking one. I ended up with a 1 star media sponsor.

ugg. I HATE that. I've had something similar happen a couple of times in the secondary sports I don't really follow as much (both basketball and hockey if memory serves) where I just didn't log into them for a few days, and COMPLETELY MISSED sponsorship time, getting all random offers.

That definitely makes for a long season to be sure.

While it's still LIKELY that we'll advance in the U19, I'm kicking myself, because a win in that Italy game would've actually locked it up for us (it wouldn't havge even mattered what else happened).

Hopefully everything goes according to plan against China.

Well... after the nice win over China today, statistically, we are a lock for the next round. I was somewhat worried a couple of weeks ago when Italy beat us (and probably rightfully so, since it looks like they'll be advancing now too), but they've done SO well since beating us that Bulgaria is now pretty far on the outside looking in, and can no longer displace us from moving on to the next round.

Thank you for sending me the information. I have Ronnie Lindsey on my scouting list, and I'll keep him in mind as I select this year's roster.

I think Burt Whitney will probably be starting though since he already has team chemistry, is still 6/6 CL, and already has over 1100 OR at just 18 years of age.

After todays close win on the road against Hungary, we're off to a really decent start this season. We have a 3-0 record with 2 of those matches on the road against tough opponents (UK and Hungary).

Hopefully we should be good to advance. We should only need to win 2 out of the remaining 5 matches in order to do so. I'm hoping our chances of doing that are pretty good given that 3 of those 5 games are at home, and the 2 away matches we DO have are against the two teams at the bottom of the group standings.

Fingers crossed, but so far so good this season... which is awesome because I figured this would be a bit of a rebuilding year.

Well, we have advanced to the next round in U19 competition after only 6 games played! Even more than that, we played on normal energy in 8/12 of the halves (3/12 played on High, and only 1/12 on VH), so the team is really pretty fresh going into the next round.

We'll be playing on VL the next couple of weeks (I don't really care who knows) to save even more energy.

I'm pretty excited about how our youngsters have preformed these past couple of seasons. I never would've dreamed that we'd have such easy success this year with pretty lackluster goaltending (as compared to previous seasons).

Anyways... just wanted to give everyone an update!

Weiird... I'm astounded at how well the team has done the last couple of weeks on VL energy.

First, we played VL against a very good Hungary team which played on Normal, and only lost by 3.

Then today, we played VL against a pretty competitive Brazil team which played on VH, and pretty soundly crushed them (winning by 8 goals).

I'd like to claim credit and say I'm an amazing manager and planned to finish this strongly while saving energy, but I'm honestly just stunned that at how well we did.

Maybe we'll be able to make some waves in the elimination rounds this season?

with a win against italy tomorrow, we'd secure a spot in the bracket round of the u19 finals. Keep those fingers crossed... this would be the first season we'd made it so far into the world championship tourney for the u19

Huge huge win today over italy's U19 team. Not only did we win... on the road... but we only used 1.5 energy in the effort (1 half on High, 1 half on Normal). Considering that we run different players on offense and defense, each starter only really lost about 0.75 energy in the win...

Through the 4 games we've played this round, we've played on High 3 halves, VH in 4 halves, and Normal in 1 half. Soo... our energy is picture is drastically better than teams that are playing every game on VH (it's a difference of ~4 energy between us and them right now). Our best players are at ~90 energy right now, which is incredible in the big picture. Here's hoping we can continue to make a splash once we get to the knockout / bracket round.
