My goalie was on a similar hotstreak these playoffs.

To add to this concern, I hate when these games try to mix in too much tactics. Really the tactical decisions made in a game are made by the coach. The only way this works is if we all watch the games live and then have the ability to make changes to our choices on the fly ... seems silly to me.

When you have the winning bid on free agents. And then the team matches your offer, it should free up your money, instead it continues to be locked up in the purchase of that player.

The National Cup draw should be weighted. As the third ranked team in pool 2, I shouldn't necessarily play against the 3rd last ranked team from pool 1, but I sure as shit shouldn't be on even odds as the last ranked team in pool 2 to face the top ranked team from pool 1.

The fact that the 155th ranked team plays the 39th ranked team and the 45th plays the 2nd is an injustice on par with Forrest Gump winning the Oscar over Shawshank!

I agree, though when you get to real-life tournaments only the NHL playoffs are weighted. When you have draws in the knockout stage of the Euros and what not there is no weighting.

I was thinking more along the lines of the lottery in the NHL draft, like how the top 5 teams all have weighted percentages of drawing the 1 card.

I could go for that. Though I think they like the idea of keeping it fair and not just feeding the good teams.

believe it or not, there is also quite a strong lobbing for the other extreme - a completely random draw with no seeding. This is a good middle ground.

Haven't the top teams earned the right to an easier road through to the more difficult rounds? Doesn't it allow for more interesting match-ups?

My team's OTS is 149. So far the best team I've played has an OTS of 89; easy wins. Now I jump to a team with an OTS of 209.

I will not have played a team that is within 60 OTS points of mine in this tournament.

That's foolish. The finals should feature the two best teams. They shouldn't be facing each other in the first round.

Maybe, instead, this tournament should be seeded based on OTS.

Since the pools are re-seeded every round given their original seeding at the start of the year, then the top two teams would be featured in the final (should the top two teams win every game to that point over lesser teams.)

Top teams is defined, unfortunately, as rung position followed by OTR. Although I do agree that the definition is flawed, I cannot purport OTS to be indicative of team ranking either. Even a true indication would be flawed as teams have the ability to change throughout the year compared with a static seeding taken at the beginning of the year.

OTS is the best indicator of team strength we have. I understand that it may fluctuate, with training camps, injuries, etc. How about PPM takes the team's top OTS through the first three weeks of play and sets that for the remainder of the tournament?

OTR doesn't work. You've got division III teams that are promoting with huge OTRs. Every time WebSimSports promotes, they rank ahead of me in OTR. That's ridiculous because they'll inevitably relegate again and their OTS is significantly lower.
