Perhaps. I like Hamhuis but he's not the shutdown guy in the traditional sense. He had problems with Penner.

Looks good on him. Team isn't winning because of him. He should stop being a bar star and boozing 24/7 and maybe he'd start putting up numbers.

There was rumors that Willie didn't get along with AV, and he got in that fight with Raymond in practice, then he was gone the next year. Don't know if the AV rift was true or not, but that was the running story around here.

You get that with every coach. What matters is how the team plays. Some players will love while others will hate. Rarely do you get all of one or the other... unless you played on the team I quit. Even the players who played 20+min/night hated that guy.

Hamhuis is my fav all time D man. He understands defense to norris caliber. To bad he doesn't have the tools to be an allstar.
He's decent at passing, slightly below average shot, average size/strength to play physical, above average skating. He is all about being in position and pressuring players to slow down the rush, or force players to the boards. If he could play physical he'd be willie mitchell, but to compensate for that, he understands the transition game better. He's my type of player, a smart one!

Canucks need a big Dman to stand in the crease. Bieksa and Hamhuis are a perfect 2nd pairing but Edler plays like a swede and doesn't punish players infront of the net. Edler likes to be the guy infront of the net too... what we really need is to duplicate Elder to play with Elder. We should trade for Hedman! I'd be ok with giving TB schnieder for him =).

Lou isn't the safer bet, but bandwagoners dont mean shit to the team if he is on only option to play in net. The team is under control by management (unlike montreal) and will be disciplined to not quit on Lou (if that is really happening) by january.

One of my colleagues posted the following ad using her University email address looking for people to help teach swing dancing. This is the actual ad she posted on kijiji. After receiving 70+ emails she realized what she had done and word had spread all around her school to the point where profs even started calling her "swinger":
