I never said that the Sedins are cheap, only that the Nucks have a LONG list of dirty players that played for them:
Cooke, Rutuu, Brookbank, Torres, Rypien, Bertuzzi, Burrows, May, etc.

Canucks have had some really dirty players on their teams, but with your Nucks goggles on, you won't admit to that.

You pretend to be a classy team, but you aren't. Nuck fans aren't classy. Sorry dude.

Ok, try and justify it however you want, your team had a history of being dirty, that's why they aren't liked.

Besides, the Nucks are just like SJ, underachievers.

Also, if you're claiming that the Nucks are hated because they're good, then why isn't Detroit hated? Why wasn't SJ hated? Why did Canada rally behind Edmonton/Calgary during their cup runs?

Why is it that Vancouver is the exception to all this?

i know, if you're going to use bertuzzi in an argument for why the canucks are hated, then in another post try and say detroit isn't hated (with bertuzzi on the roster), credibility goes flying out the window.

I do respect TheChads opinion, but I don't agree with it, and am getting sick of the same old song and dance. Come up with something else to say, thats all. Its always "yah, well the canucks are the most hated team", we understand this, we don't care. On the west coast, the leafs are hated, but we don't feel the need to profess our hate for them once a week. TheChad seems like a smart guy too, so I'm sure he has the capability of coming up with something a little more intelligent to say than the same old recycled crap.

I could go through any teams roster and pick out a big list of "dirty" players from over the years (like TheChad did for the canucks)......

but how about making a different list:

I feel a big reason why the hatred is so much more for the Canucks than other teams, at least in Calgary, is because of the fans. It's all fun and good to cheer for your team, but every Canuck fan I encounter has to not just point out how good their team is, but how terrible our team is. Its not every fan of course (my girlfriend is a Canucks fan and she never says a bad word about the Flames), but it is a proportionally high number of fans, much more than any other team.

It's the difference between being a fan and trying to pick a fight; it seems like Canucks fans like to be on the wrong side more often than not.

oldtimehockey4 has the gist of it. Most Canucks fans I come across are absolute jerks. There are a few exceptions though.

I'm not trying to crucify the Canucks fans here, but that's how it goes here in the maritimes as well.. There are some respectable fans but a lot of them are ignorant and cocky. I don't absolutely HATE the Canucks like most Flames fans do, but the only player I don't like would be Burrows, and maybe Kesler a little bit.

I also like the fact that Yann Sauve is one of their top d-prospects because he used to play here in Saint John.. The guy's a beast!

Besides the fact that is a loose generalization, Calgary is different, there was a juicy rivalry for a number of years, so at least your hatred has some basis. I have had my share of hate for Calgary as well, because they are a division rival, but its different, its competitive. There is always respect there. I hate Jerome Iginla sometimes, but I also love Jerome Iginla. Canucks fans hate the blackhawks for the very same reason, but you don't see us posting the same "we hate you" msgs on public forums every day. Why? because we respect them too.

I don't come on here trashing the flames, and telling you how much better the canucks are. In fact I believe I've said numerous times that I can't wait for Calgary to rebuild and get better. I've always maintained that all Canadian teams deserve to be competitive, and deserve to be in the playoffs. (yes, even the dreaded Maple Leafs). So add me on that list with your girlfriend. I think if you started talking to the majority of canuck fans, and not the most vocal few juvenile ones, you might see that list grow even longer.

just because TheChad is an ass sometimes (and I love him for it, dont get me wrong here), it doesnt mean I hate him, or Colorado Avalanche fans. And don't be fooled by the moron fans, those very same "canuck fans" that you are talking about are the same ones that jump on and off the bandwagon 10 times a year, trust me, we don't like them either.

I think you nailed it on the head there. A lot of it is the bandwagon fans, and there are a ton for the Canucks. Canuck fans are a fickle bunch, going from "the Canucks are gods on earth" to "screw those losers, we're never going to win a cup".

It just seems like there are a lot of them for the Canucks, but I'm probably just exposed to them more than other fan bases. Frick, I absolutely hated a lot of the people who became fans of the Flames in 2004, and couldn't name a single player besides Iginla and Kiprusoff. Those fans are now long gone since the magic of that season has finally worn off, but I'm sure will throw on their red jerseys next time we make the playoffs.
